I am selling a brand-new burgundy velvet jacket from ChicStar, the High Wing Collar coat. It's a gorgeous, well-constructed jacket, it's just too long through the torso for my short-waisted and busty self.

Two pictures under this cut tag! )

It's a size 44, which according to ChicStar is 42" bust, 34" waist, 44" hips. In real life (on me), it's about a 40-41" bust, 33" waist, and 44" hips. It's fully-lined, and has pockets. (POCKETS!) I'm selling it because while it's lovely, it just doesn't fit well enough on my short-waisted self.

I'm selling it for $69 + shipping, which is $10 less than the price on the ChicStar site. Please leave a comment if you want it!
It's that time again, folks! The Time Travelers' Rummage Sale is THIS coming Saturday!

March 10th
Noon - 6:00 PM
All Pilgrims Church
500 Broadway East (lower level)
Seattle, WA

I will be there selling clothes (including some Lip Service and a vintage J. Peterman jacket!), boots, and the ever-popular Bags Of Mystery!

One of the many reasons why you (yes, you!) want to get a Bag Of Mystery! at Saturday's Time Travelers' Rummage Sale? Because in addition to craft supplies and assorted ... things from myself, Thea, and the Infamous BlueJay, they will contain fabric scraps from Kambriel! Oh, the things that could be made from those fabrics. (I'm keeping *some* for myself to later turn into flowers, brooches, and appliques.)

So if you're in the Seattle area on Saturday, please stop by!
The first round of pulling clothes I want to sell from my closet(s):

I still need to ask the Stroppy One for second opinions about getting rid of a few things in this photo, but for the most part? Yeah, that's all going to be for sale at the 3/10 Time Travelers' Rummage Sale.

In the next few days, I need to carefully remove stripey heart patches from the sleeves of a few jackets, and from one skirt. (I'm assuming most people don't want stripey hearts on their sleeves. Tell me if you think I'm mistaken.)

Thank you, everyone who claimed stuff from yesterday's closet culling sale! I should have totals including postage to all of you by tonight. (I would have done it yesterday afternoon, but lo, the sinus migraine monsters attacked, and I had to retreat to the couch.

In the course of checking the eBay auction for the pink silk velvet waistcoat, I discovered that it is perilously close to what I am willing to bid for it, AND both the Stroppy One and the Infamous BlueJay have said that it is not quite the right shade of pink, and double-breasted anything in silk velvet will look like padded armor. Then the Infamous BlueJay went on to tell me to just save all the damn photos, we will find some nice cupcake pink silk, and she will duplicate it. Um, okay? ::grin::

So the money made from the sale is going toward the memorial tattoo for Mom, which I'm getting in January. (And maybe a day at the spa, so I can spend all day soaking in hot pools and getting scrubbed.)

Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Skirts! )

Jackets and waistcoats! )

Blouses and dresses! )
That's right, one of my infamous clothing sales! I want to make sure I have the money for a tattoo I am planning on getting this month, plus I need stuff OUT OF MY CLOSETS. I took photos last night, now I just need to take measurements and do the write-ups.

MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK - probably Wednesday.

And a question: do you peeps think I should offer a few Bags of Mystery?

- The auction for the Jacket of Coveting has not yet climbed out of my price range. ::makes covetous, grabby-hands motions at the monitor::

- Writing is ... going slowly, but starting to happen again. I need to make my list of projects that need to happen. Perhaps the first one should be a new GCS column. Or a review, because I adored [livejournal.com profile] cmpriest's Bloodshot, and want to tell the world.

- Another project I need to return my attention to is sorting and taking photos for a clothing sale, which will include Bags Of Mystery! this time. I need to do this partially because I'm in debt to the house, partially because I want to start setting aside money for the tattoo that will be in memory of Mom, and partially because I am in the beginning of a decluttering epiphany/freakout. So! Watch this LJ! Many shiny, frilly, velvety things, soon to be for sale.

- Oh, and yet another project: I need to order the spikes so I can customize another pair of shoes, this time taking photos so I can write up a tutorial for GCS. (And then probably auction off the finished shoes.)

- Plus, y'know, dayjob.

In other words, I'm keeping busy. And getting ambushed by things that remind me of Mom, but that's to be expected.

Noon to 5pm

I went to the space today to set up (organization, I can haz it! Sometimes!), and let me tell you, [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps has FOUR giant bags of stuff that I saw. If you are anywhere near the Seattle area, you don't want to miss this.

My exciting adventures for today involved going Leaving The House for brunch, and then the aforementioned sale set-up. That pretty much used up my energy, so I am now going to spend the rest of the day writing, sewing, and watching more of the 1st season of the Matt Smith run of Dr. Who. (We're currently watching "Flesh And Stone" - don't spoil me for the rest of the run!)
Reading through [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre's line edits on fiction project is a perfect thing to do with a sinus migraine, right? Right. Writing is about SITTING DOWN AND WRITING, Cupcake. So you will do that.

(Seriously, if I wasn't so behind on my self-imposed writing schedule, I would do nothing today but flop on the couch and whimper. But things Must Be Done, so self-discipline is the key.)

Hey, have I reminded everyone about the SeaGoth Rummage sale coming up on Sunday? Not today, I haven't!

There are 23 Bags! Of! Mystery! awaiting purchasers, filled with goodies from not just my collection of crafting goodies, but from the Infamous BlueJay's stash, too. How can you resist? You can't, just accept your fate and buy a Bag! Of! Mystery!

---

Okay, enough distraction via internet. Time to get back to reading line edits.

Big hair! Haute Macabre spotlights one of my favorite Tumblr blogs (clicky-link!), the one that is making me all nostalgic about big hair, black leather jackets, and deathrock styling. I must find the hair fall I recently purchased, as I have plans to embiggen it.

---

Still on a quest for more Chanel Vamp lipstick, but not quite as urgently thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sirriamnis swapping me her two barely-used tubes for some BPAL. Yay!

---

Today: work-related emails, closet culling, writing, and assembling Bags Of Mystery. Whoo, exciting!
To heck with Black Friday: what are you doing next Sunday? You're doing your holiday shopping at the SeaGoth Rummage Sale!

There is going to be a wide range of things in all styles and sizes. I know Alexia is clearing out a lot of housewares, Coach bags, CorpGoth stuff, club clothes, and J.Peterman items. I am going to have clothes, fabric, shoes, and purses.

There will be more posts about this. Trust me, many, many reminders will be happening.
The Seattle Steampunk Swapmeet:
September 18th, noon to 6PM.
All Pilgrims Christian Church

The Great Goth Yard Sale, vol. II:
Sunday, September 26
Noon-4 p.m. (no early birds; you show up early, you get put to work on setup)
22nd Ave & E Columbia St, in the Central District

Yes, I'm going to be at both. Clothes, makeup, jewelry, BPAL, surprise bags of crafting supplies - trust me, you want to show up to at least one of these.

(The makeup, jewelry, and BPAL will probably NOT be at the Steampunk Swapmeet, but WILL be at the Great Goth Yard Sale.)

(You know what this means? This means I am doing even MORE culling of the closets over the next week or so. I will be stricter with myself about culling!)
The Seattle Steampunk Swapmeet is happening on September 18th, noon to 6PM.

At All Pilgrims Christian Church
500 Broadway East (lower level)

Guess what? I'm going to have a table there. Yes, a local version of the Closet Culling Sale! Plus I'll be selling mystery grab-bags of crafting goodies. So mark your calendars and show up!

- All of the packages from the clothing sale have now been mailed!

- Tonight is Going Dancing Night with the StuntHusband at NocNoc, and then (almost certainly) to Night Kitchen for late-night snacks. Will one of the DJs at the club play "Bad Romance" again, thus allowing the StuntHusband and myself to utterly confuse the hipsters on the dancefloor?

- I need to stop dragging my feet and look at the comments from my beta readers on the story I need to send off to Steampunk Tales.

- I also need to start writing the next GCS column.

- Oh, and work on the fiction project.

- I finished reading The Vampire Armand during last night's bath. Whooo, bombast and vampires! And my goodness, Armand is quite the cranky drama queen, isn't he? Should I start reading Violin or Merrick, or should I re-read [livejournal.com profile] gailcarriger's Changeless (again!) in prep for Blameless arriving next week?

I am thinking of selling off the infamous vintage bat shoes.

You know, the ones I've been searching for for years and years and years, and that every time I find a pair of them, they are TOO SMALL.

The ones that are currently in my possession are a size 7. Which will not fit me, ever. (Unless maybe I cut off all of my toes, which even *I* think would be going a little too far into CrazyTown.)

What have I been doing with these glorious size 7 bat shoes? Occasionally taking them out of the shoe cabinet, sighing wistfully, attempting to cram my feet into them, pouting, and then putting them back into the shoe cabinet. Rumors of my waving them in the air and demanding that The Powers That Be cause a pair of them in a size 8 to magically appear before me are completely unfounded. No truth to those rumors whatsoever. I swear.

Anyway, yeah. I'm seriously thinking of selling off the bat shoes. Maybe The Powers That Be will be so pleased with my letting the bat shoes find their True Home, that THEN a pair of them (in size 8) will magically appear the next time I go thrift shopping. (What? It totally could happen like that.)
