I'm culling the bookshelves, and I'm being pretty aggressive about it, this time. There's a lot of stuff I like that I'm getting rid of because I haven't read it in years, and if I want to reread it, that is what ebooks are for. So far I have about 8 or 9 grocery bags worth of books pulled off the shelves, and I still have two bookcases to go. Even the vampire bookcase has been culled! The question is, do I (well, the Stroppy One) haul all of this to Half-Price Books for the pittance they'll give me? Or do I hang on to this until the yard sale in July-ish, and sell stuff at 50 cents to $3 a book, and *then* haul the leftovers to Half-Price? Decisions, decisions ...

See, I am slowly trying to unlearn my packrat ways. ::grin::

Also on the project list for this weekend (probably tomorrow): MOAR CLOTHING CULLING. And at some point in the near future, the Storage Heap Room o' Doom.
It's that time again, folks! The Time Travelers' Rummage Sale is THIS coming Saturday!

March 10th
Noon - 6:00 PM
All Pilgrims Church
500 Broadway East (lower level)
Seattle, WA

I will be there selling clothes (including some Lip Service and a vintage J. Peterman jacket!), boots, and the ever-popular Bags Of Mystery!

One of the many reasons why you (yes, you!) want to get a Bag Of Mystery! at Saturday's Time Travelers' Rummage Sale? Because in addition to craft supplies and assorted ... things from myself, Thea, and the Infamous BlueJay, they will contain fabric scraps from Kambriel! Oh, the things that could be made from those fabrics. (I'm keeping *some* for myself to later turn into flowers, brooches, and appliques.)

So if you're in the Seattle area on Saturday, please stop by!
The first round of pulling clothes I want to sell from my closet(s):

I still need to ask the Stroppy One for second opinions about getting rid of a few things in this photo, but for the most part? Yeah, that's all going to be for sale at the 3/10 Time Travelers' Rummage Sale.

In the next few days, I need to carefully remove stripey heart patches from the sleeves of a few jackets, and from one skirt. (I'm assuming most people don't want stripey hearts on their sleeves. Tell me if you think I'm mistaken.)

Thank you, everyone who claimed stuff from yesterday's closet culling sale! I should have totals including postage to all of you by tonight. (I would have done it yesterday afternoon, but lo, the sinus migraine monsters attacked, and I had to retreat to the couch.

In the course of checking the eBay auction for the pink silk velvet waistcoat, I discovered that it is perilously close to what I am willing to bid for it, AND both the Stroppy One and the Infamous BlueJay have said that it is not quite the right shade of pink, and double-breasted anything in silk velvet will look like padded armor. Then the Infamous BlueJay went on to tell me to just save all the damn photos, we will find some nice cupcake pink silk, and she will duplicate it. Um, okay? ::grin::

So the money made from the sale is going toward the memorial tattoo for Mom, which I'm getting in January. (And maybe a day at the spa, so I can spend all day soaking in hot pools and getting scrubbed.)

Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Thank you to everyone who purchased things from my closet culling sale yesterday! I am working on getting totals with shipping costs to everyone; figuring out what size box a Bag Of Mystery fits comfortably in is interesting.

My tattoo appointment is on Tuesday, and I will post photos of the new ink once it is done! (I'm getting the phrase "Get Out of Your Own Way" tattooed on my right forearm, because it is a reminder that has been beating me over the head all year. I now understand that I need to have that reminder with me constantly, so I stop driving myself crazy about, oh, a lot of things.)

That's right, one of my infamous clothing sales! I want to make sure I have the money for a tattoo I am planning on getting this month, plus I need stuff OUT OF MY CLOSETS. I took photos last night, now I just need to take measurements and do the write-ups.

MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK - probably Wednesday.

And a question: do you peeps think I should offer a few Bags of Mystery?

My beta readers are a wonder and a delight - thank you! And just like always, if you lovely people will help spread the word about the new post, that would be great!

Thank you to everyone who has helped with the Kickstarter for My Summer As A Goth! We're off to a great start. Expect to see a lot of posts from me about it, because I want this project to succeed and start filming next summer.
THIS WEEKEND, a new gothy shop opens on Capitol Hill. A new grown-up gothy shop! Carrying wares from local artisans, and from Heavy Red, Retroscope Fashions, Lastware, and Kambriel. I am ridiculously excited about this store, even if it spells doom for my pocketbook.

I'll be doing an in-store signing event there on Friday, September 2, at 6:30 pm. Please stop by, say hi, and browse the wares!

Guess what? It's time for another Time Traveler's Rummage Sale! Yep, the last one was so much fun, they organized another one. (Plus, it will be a month away from Steamcon III, and people will be looking for last-minute additions to their outfits.) Yes indeedy, I will be vending there! I've got Cranky!Bloomers! I'm culling my closets again! And oh my yes, the ever-popular Bags! Of! Mystery! will be back, filled with all-new mysterious goodies. (Let me put it this way: the Infamous BlueJay is clearing out her fabric and trim stash and handing things to me. Really, really nifty things.)

Productivity is one of those things I sometimes indulge in.

(Wait. Full disclosure here: many people (including my therapist) have pointed out to me that what I consider being lazy and not applying myself would be getting a lot done by other people. There, I admitted it, my sanity check people can stop gently glaring at me and muttering.)

So. Today involved dayjob stuff, quickly updating my resume and sending it to a friend at Amazon (because they've got a couple of editor positions I'm interested in), doing a supply run for Crankybloomers (which I am going to be selling at the Time Travelers' Rummage Sale in July and the Mourning Market in August), pulling out a bunch of trim for the Crankybloomers from the stash, chatting with some people about job hunting and resume stuff, and culling the closets for items to sell at the Time Travelers' Rummage Sale. (The amount of ruffly, quasi-Victorian stuff I'm letting go of is mildly astonishing, even to me. Oh, and boots! I'm even selling a pair of 8-eye Docs.)

And tonight I'm going to do some writing and website upkeep.

So why do I feel as if I've been slothful and haven't gotten anything done? Oh brain, why are you determined to serve me crazycakes?

I went to the space today to set up (organization, I can haz it! Sometimes!), and let me tell you, [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps has FOUR giant bags of stuff that I saw. If you are anywhere near the Seattle area, you don't want to miss this.

My exciting adventures for today involved going Leaving The House for brunch, and then the aforementioned sale set-up. That pretty much used up my energy, so I am now going to spend the rest of the day writing, sewing, and watching more of the 1st season of the Matt Smith run of Dr. Who. (We're currently watching "Flesh And Stone" - don't spoil me for the rest of the run!)
THIS COMING SUNDAY! SeaGoth Rummage Sale!

And yes, I am putting together more Bags! Of! Mystery! to sell at this. Fun for everyone!

Big hair! Haute Macabre spotlights one of my favorite Tumblr blogs (clicky-link!), the one that is making me all nostalgic about big hair, black leather jackets, and deathrock styling. I must find the hair fall I recently purchased, as I have plans to embiggen it.

---

Still on a quest for more Chanel Vamp lipstick, but not quite as urgently thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sirriamnis swapping me her two barely-used tubes for some BPAL. Yay!

Today: work-related emails, closet culling, writing, and assembling Bags Of Mystery. Whoo, exciting!
To heck with Black Friday: what are you doing next Sunday? You're doing your holiday shopping at the SeaGoth Rummage Sale!

Yes, I will be selling MORE STUFF. The wardrobe culling continues! Hey, do you folks think I should put together some more Bags Of Mystery! to sell? This round of them would primarily be vintage trims and so on.

There will be more posts about this. Trust me, many, many reminders will be happening.

You know what I haven't subjected you people to? My INCOHERENT CAPSLOCK FLAILY GLEE at the new MCR single that premiered yesterday. But I will show some restraint, because certain people are starting to be concerned that fandom has finally unhinged me. So let's just say that I really like it, and am giddy that the album is being released the Tuesday after my birthday. ("SHUT UP AND LET ME SEE YOUR JAZZ HANDS", hee! I may never stop giggling.)

---

One of my writers brought me pink Gerber daisies and chocolate today, as a thank you for dealing with some last-minute project hijinks. Awww!

---

Gnnng. There is a seller on ebay that has a pair of limited edition pink Fluevog Lover boots (clicky-link! not to the auction, but to a photo) for sale. But I am not in the market to spend $300 on boots. I'm not. I will keep repeating that to myself. (Even if they're really cute, and I could easily dye the contrast trim black.) No. I am closing that tab now. I really am.
