You know what the only downside to being able to read really quickly is? Then you have a long wait between books.

Blameless = delightful!

More spoilers )

Now that I've finished my headlong charge of OMG, MUST KEEP READING! MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS!, I can re-read the book at a more leisurely pace. As in tonight during bath time.

I am now on page 224. Beware, spoilers behind the cut tag.

Bustles! )

So far, I have resisted all urges to skip to the end and Find Out What Happens. Now I go back to reading.
I was going to do a little writing, watch a movie, and change out the buttons on a jacket. Those plans, however have changed. Because my copy of Blameless by Gail Carriger has arrived.

Right now I am beset with a horrible temptation to spoil myself for the ending. I think such behavior is wrong, but ... auuugh! I want to know if Certain Situations will be resolved!

Willpower. I have it. Really.
I'm going to be reading at Wayward Coffeehouse in Greenwood THIS Saturday night! 8PM! I know there's a lot of other stuff going on that night, but I would love to see people there!

And now, the long-threatened Closet Culling Sale!

The info about shipping: After staring at the USPS site long enough to be driven mad, I'm going to go with using the flat-rate Priority mail boxes. Which means shipping will be between $9.85 and $13.50 for US addresses, depending on how many items you're getting.

Yes, I will mail stuff internationally. I'll figure out shipping if one of you lovely non-US types wants something.

If you want something, post a comment!

Now, on to the goodies!

Which brings my total for the year up to 11 new books, 26 re-read. And just like in the last post, I've been spending a lot of time doing much-needed writing and sewing. Which means my reading time is getting limited to on the bus home from work, and in the bath each night.

New books, one of which ISN'T about vampires! )

Re-read books, most of which are about vampires. With a smattering of graphic novels, Regency romance, and mannerpunk fantasy. )

So while I'm thinking about books to read: LibraryThing! OMG, I heart LibraryThing so, so much. My library is here. (clicky link!) I am in NO WAY even close to done entering all my books. In fact, the majority of what is currently listed in my LibraryThing library is the contents of one (1) bookcase. Um, the bookcase with most of the vampire books. So! If you know of a book you think I might like, and you don't see it listed on my library, please let me know!

(And before any of you ask, yes, OF COURSE I've read everything by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. I just haven't gotten to cataloging those shelves yet. But soon. Soon!)
I suspect I spent valuable reading time doing things like writing and sewing. Which, heaven knows, are also both Very Good Things.

New books, none of which were vampire novels! Yes, I know you're surprised ... )

Okay, there are *some* vampire novels in the re-read list ... )

So, a total of 9 new books, 15 re-read. And I *still* have a stack of new books waiting for me, thank goodness.
Which brings me up to a total of 14 books read so far this year, with 4 new and 10 re-read.

I did say I re-read things a lot, right? )
Logging into LJ today, I saw the book challenge lj community, [livejournal.com profile] 50bookchallenge in the "Spotlight" sidebar. So the challenge is to read 50 books in a year?

Um, okay? I'm not planning on joining the community, but the notion of keeping track of all the books I've read over the year sounds interesting. Heck, I may even go crazy and not only count new-to-me books, but also the various books I re-read.

I would, of course, use cut-tags to burble about this sort of thing, so the busy and/or uninterested could just skim on by. So to get it all started ... )
(I just realized that by actually talking about what books I've been reading, you people are going to discover just how many silly vampire books I read. Oh dear. You'll still think fondly of me, right? You won't shun me?)
