I am sitting at my desk wearing black lipstick and fangs. If I need to hunt down co-workers and get information from them, I am READY.

A photo from the second hammock-sitting attempt, after I decided I was not going to be thwarted by silly things like gravity.

(Thank you, Victoria, for taking the photo!)

Do not argue with the editor, she has new fangs AND coffee.

(I went and got new fangs on Monday night, and went this time for incisors instead of canines. Yes, I am cheerfully wearing them around the house while working, because it amuses me.)

(I would say "fangs up", but that's more of a Cobra Starship thing. Of which I know the gesture for.)

Why don't I own the DVD collections of the original Dark Shadows shows? They're such delightfully overwrought goth silliness. Dear Netflix on Demand, thank you for making a season of them available. (The *proper* starting season, where Barnabas is resurrected.)

The only problem with working from home and having Beetlejuice on in the background while editing technical documentation?

The nigh-overwhelming urge to start leaving comments in the docs that say "This thing reads like stereo instructions."

Sometimes eBay is a dangerous place. Because there you are, innocently toodling around with assorted keyword searches, and then next thing you know, you've purchased a collection of 21 paperback gothic novels.

What? Look, just file this under my same somewhat ridiculous weakness for bombastic metal bands and movies like the remake of The Phantom Of The Opera. Glorious, over-the-top, cheesetastic fun.

Besides, how could anyone resist a book called House Of Tombs with the teaser text of "Two beautiful women, a love-starved madman and a bizarre ritual murder ... Weregild Island's ghastly secret would soon be known only to history!"? C'mon! It'll be all sorts of delightful!

How goth am I? It is almost midnight, and I am about to take a bath made with black, sparkly bath salts. (Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] staxxy.)

Black sparkly bath. With a pink Devil Duckie.  )

Because that means there is no video of me dancing around with [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny to the tune of MCR's cover of "Astro Zombies". Because, um, we kind of do that when that song pops up on the iPod.

:: wanders off to put on eyeliner, humming "Prime directive exterminate! The whole human race ..." ::
If I had a warning label, what would it say?

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix and Keenan (quick, someone, give me Keenan's LJ name, 'cos I need to add him anyway!), I ... I signed someone's chest last night.

Yes, someone had me sign their chest Yes, someone had me sign their chest

It says "Stay Spooky!" and my name. And YES, we made [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage sign Keenan's chest, too.

I signed someone's chest! This totally makes me a rock star, right?

Either that, or [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny has perfected his mind control powers. Because I can think of no other reason why I kind of covet this bunny-ear hood. (clicky-link!)

I mean, it's adorable. I KNOW it is ridiculous and silly and good lord, should not be worn by a goth in her 40s. Yes, I KNOW. But it's so cute!

Obviously, feeling unwell has brought on the brain worms or something.

Oh, the things that can be found on eBay!

My Chemical Romance ballet flats! (yeah yeah, clicky-link)

I think the seller did a very nice job customizing them. Am I tempted by them? Oh, you'd better BELIEVE I am. I'm just trying to decide if they're worth putting up with the extremely pained and long-suffering expression that will etch itself nigh permanently on [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage's face at the sight of me wearing them.

But ... MCR ballet flats! In my size! I keep looking at the picture and giggling.

(And then coughing, but oh well.)
