I'm culling the bookshelves, and I'm being pretty aggressive about it, this time. There's a lot of stuff I like that I'm getting rid of because I haven't read it in years, and if I want to reread it, that is what ebooks are for. So far I have about 8 or 9 grocery bags worth of books pulled off the shelves, and I still have two bookcases to go. Even the vampire bookcase has been culled! The question is, do I (well, the Stroppy One) haul all of this to Half-Price Books for the pittance they'll give me? Or do I hang on to this until the yard sale in July-ish, and sell stuff at 50 cents to $3 a book, and *then* haul the leftovers to Half-Price? Decisions, decisions ...

See, I am slowly trying to unlearn my packrat ways. ::grin::

Also on the project list for this weekend (probably tomorrow): MOAR CLOTHING CULLING. And at some point in the near future, the Storage Heap Room o' Doom.

(may I get in on that yard sale in Julyish?)

and yay culling. I did this while I was on the mountain and passed a large box of books to my niece, who found herself in need of reading material.

I fully support switching to ebooks. I am so incredibly happy that I finally made the conversion. I still need to get through the books that came out of storage, and my mom's books (ugh), myself.

I've been assuming you'd be part of the yard sale, but double-check with Thea to be sure.

Fair warning, tho': we're going to do as much prep/set-up as we can the night before, because Thea has this bonkers idea that we'll be starting earlyish on the day of the sale. Personally, I'm holding out for a 10:30-11am start time.

Vampire Books?

Would you consider selling and mailing the books? I'd be willing to pay for shipping, USPS Flat Rate.

Re: Vampire Books?

I would consider selling & mailing them! I'll go through the stacks of what I've culled and post a list of the vampire-specific titles.

Having done the Half-Price-Books thing before, and knowing both your reading selections and our crowds?

If you have the spoons for it, I'd sell them at the garage sale first. Then take the remnants to HPB. Might get more money that way, and put some beloved books into some gothling's hands.

Honestly, Dex and i take trips to Powell's to sell. They give a Heck of a lot better price. I will admit that it is a weekend long affair, usually, but it it is a lot of fun.

Don't let the Room o' Doom eat you! Because I want to buy some clothes from you after you're done.

You could also donate them to your local library for a tax deduction. :)

Good point! But I don't know if the library would want some of them.
