Last Friday was the publish date for the big deadline at my new tech industry job. I worked a bunch of long days/nights, but it was worth it: our content is useful, and my co-workers now hail me as a miracle worker, which is always nice. Now that we're past the deadline, I'm working on WRITING DOWN the various steps and processes I learned in my trial by fire. Internal documentation, so useful!

Saturday was the Time Travelers Rummage Sale. I did not have time to cull/sort/price clothes or accessories (even tho' I need to, very badly), but the Elder Goth Surprise Bags and Bags! Of! Mystery were popular, and a few people even purchased copies of the Gothic Charm School book!

I spent a chunk of my profit at the sale before it even opened to the public. When a pair of Fluevog boots I've been coveting for YEARS turns up at a rummage sale, I buy them. PERFECT FLUEVOG VAMPIRE BOOTS:

Why yes, those are the Countess Olivia boots. They were notorious for running about a size to a size-and-a-half small, which means a 9.5 fits me perfectly. They were one of the items being sold as part of an estate sale; someone from the local Steampunk community recently passed away, and the folks running that table said they were glad the boots were going to a good home.

Yeah, work and shoes. That's pretty much all I've got, right now. Wait, no! One other thing: we just started watching Penny Dreadful, and OMG THIS SHOW. I think I love it more than Hannibal, and that's saying a lot. We've only seen two episodes so far, but it is every ridiculous gothic horror faux-Victorian thing I've ever wanted. With the exception of the spiders, but I've learned not to watch the opening credits, and other people have warned me which episodes to be wary of.

bloodyteacup

YES, THAT IS A TEACUP OVERFLOWING WITH BLOOD. I wasn't kidding about the ridiculous gothic horror part. Also, I want all the clothes. ALL OF THEM.
THIS SUNDAY

You know what I haven't subjected you people to? My INCOHERENT CAPSLOCK FLAILY GLEE at the new MCR single that premiered yesterday. But I will show some restraint, because certain people are starting to be concerned that fandom has finally unhinged me. So let's just say that I really like it, and am giddy that the album is being released the Tuesday after my birthday. ("SHUT UP AND LET ME SEE YOUR JAZZ HANDS", hee! I may never stop giggling.)

One of my writers brought me pink Gerber daisies and chocolate today, as a thank you for dealing with some last-minute project hijinks. Awww!

Gnnng. There is a seller on ebay that has a pair of limited edition pink Fluevog Lover boots (clicky-link! not to the auction, but to a photo) for sale. But I am not in the market to spend $300 on boots. I'm not. I will keep repeating that to myself. (Even if they're really cute, and I could easily dye the contrast trim black.) No. I am closing that tab now. I really am.
- During this week's meeting with my work mentor (the woman who was the editor before me on this team), she said "I think you're doing a great job, [manager] thinks you're perfect. So just keep doing what you're doing". Eeeee! And yes, I'm going to re-read this post whenever I'm having a bad day at work.

- I had lunch today with the wonderful and charming [livejournal.com profile] gaaneden. I *must* do that more often.

- In having lunch with her, I discovered that other buildings on campus have much better cafeterias than mine. So much better that I'm probably willing to walk down the hill to get to them instead of staring dejectedly at what's available at my local cafeteria. (::coughs::That is, on the days that I have not managed to bring a healthy packed lunch with me. Which shouldn't be very often at all.)

- Chatted a bit last night with [livejournal.com profile] djeternaldarkne about a possible plan. [livejournal.com profile] bittergourd, sweetie? I need to talk to you about possibly designing a flier for something ...

- I have two brand-new EGA dresses I'm going to be selling. They're both very cute, they're just not full enough in the skirts for my petticoats. There will be a post with the details coming Real Soon Now.

And now, Shallow Fashion Details! )
For some reason, I have been longing for purple eyeshadow. Never mind that I have yet to find a saturated purple shadow that looks good on me, I still want one. I wonder if I could trick ask [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage to go to the MAC counter with me this weekend ...
