I always forget: one of the things I do when I'm stressed is think about doing something to my hair. I want to bleach some white streaks at the temples. Narrow ones, but still. It would involve hair color remover and bleach, two things I should probably avoid.

Yes, I could just get white-blonde micro-ring extensions and put them in. Maybe I'll even do that.

Randomly, here, have a picture of part of my current workspace. I have created a little writing nook for myself in the Library, with a comfy chair and appropriate decor.

I'm still gathering my strength for that. No, this is a post to say I have found what may be the perfect present for me, ever. If anyone ever felt like spending $25K on a present for me, which I admit is very unlikely.

A cupcake car! (clicky-link of AMAZEMENT!) From Neiman Marcus. OF COURSE I WANT ONE. WHY WOULDN'T I?

::reads the sales copy::

Eeee! They're customizable! I could have a pink and black one!

If you listen closely, not only will you be able to hear the Stroppy One rolling his eyes, but also muttering "Good God woman, NO" under his breath.

Cupcake car! CUPCAKE CAR!

Clicky-links:

Firstly, the new post at Gothic Charm School!

Secondly, this is me reminding people of the existence of the Rocklove Jewelry Gothic Charm School Batty Heart necklace and the Starborn Alchemy Gothic Charm School body butter!

Thirdly, hey, the new issue of Steampunk Tales is available, with part two of a work of fiction by me!

A question:

In a post last night about the ongoing cleaning/organizing of the Storage Heap Room O' Doom, I mentioned that I had a LOT of fabric that I wasn't going to ever use. [livejournal.com profile] jaborwhalky, because she is brilliant, suggested the following:

Make grab bags of the fabric by color and put them up for sale via your LJ at like prices of 20$ for a small bag of fabric and stuff 30$ for a bigger bag of fabric and stuff 50$ for a huge bag of fabric and stuff or the good good stuff.

Have that be with free shipping and see if you can't get more shoe money and make people you know happy with a random grab bag of Lady of the Manners fabric and crafts stuff.

Now, I think this is a really good idea. And oh, it would help me raise money to buy the assorted furniture and shelves I will need to properly organize that room. But! Do you folks reading this think it's a good idea? Would any of you be interested in it? (Yes, [livejournal.com profile] angldst, I know you already said you'd be all for it.)

I have managed to clear about half of the room now. This is very exciting!
I do know this. Really. So why oh why am I madly coveting a dark burgundy/wine velvet cropped jacket or blazer? Why? Other than the obvious answer that I'm slowly adding more burgundy/wine colors back into my wardrobe, I mean.

Well, since I'm amusing myself with idly window-shopping in between edit passes on content, if anyone has links to pretty (and reasonably-priced!) burgundy/wine/maroon velvet jackets, please share them with me.
- I saw one of the best shows of my life last night, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix. A venue the size of my dining room and kitchen (which makes sense, since the venue is part of the living space of one of the bands), brilliantly talented musicians (Jason Webley, Estradasphere, and Amanda Palmer), and the first live appearance of Evelyn Evelyn. ([livejournal.com profile] kambriel, the dress you made for them was lovely.) I did manage to take some photos of Evelyn Evelyn; I will try and get them uploaded in the next day or so, if they aren't complete crap. I also got to watch [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix give a jar of homemade raspberry jam to Amanda and nearly expire from fangirl delight. It really was a magical sort of event, and I was extremely lucky to be there.

- Why the hell do I suddenly kinda-sorta want a Polaroid instant camera? I mean, I've always been charmed by them, but I think this new-found "Oooh, that would be fun!" impulse comes from seeing a babyfaced alterna-girl type at last night's show (who couldn't have been more than 15, and was some sort of hybrid between punk, scenekid, and new wave) who had brought a Polaroid camera with her, and was having grand fun with it. I know, I know, me and my oddball whims.
Thanks to the enabling and encouragement from some of you, not to mention looking at this post in [livejournal.com profile] steamfashion, I now want to get a small toy ray gun and modify it. Yes, black with pink details, and make a pink holster for it.

I also want to find a pair of antique-looking goggles to customize to fit in with the pink&black aesthetic, so I can have a Cupcake Gothic Steampunk Lady Explorer outfit. I mean, I've already got the wardrobe (I'd just have to mix & match a couple of pieces). I just need the ray gun and the goggles!

[livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage has already declared that I need to step away from the ray guns and possibly have a time-out. I think he's just saying that in attempt at self-defense, because he realizes that I would need his help with painting things.

Cupcake Gothic Steampunk! C'mon, you KNOW it would be fabulous.
