Dammit, I slept fine! (Thanks to the miracle of modern pharmacology, but still!) But oh lord, I cannot wake up today. I have had two pots of tea, and have just returned from a walk to get a double-tall iced Americano. Let's hope that finally does the trick.

Soooo, I'm thinking of purchasing a few more replica skeletal hands, to sew on other handbags. I think this is going to be A Thing with me, a skeletal hand with a pink bow on my purse. Because with sunny weather (which we had this weekend) comes the need to carry my sunglasses AND my translucent powder sunblock AND a fan, which means a slightly larger handbag is required. Also, I think that one of my Deborah Lewis handbags with the straps to hold a folding parasol would look quite charming with a skeletal hand on it. I may take photos of the handbags in question to show you peoples and see what you think.

Tonight, I absolutely, no doubt about it, NEED to do writing. I'm behind on my next GCS article. I was going to write this weekend, but looming sinus migraines = words gone.

Hey, Seattle peeps! Is anyone going to the Toy Box Trio & Unwoman show on Thursday night? I need to figure out a carpool option.

So it seems that Tuesdays are going to be the days where I feel very very tired. Send tea, cupcakes, and pretty boys in eyeliner.

I did not get any writing done last night. No, instead I went to the release for the [livejournal.com profile] sepiachord companion CD at the Seattle Steamvent meet-up. (I don't really consider myself steampunk, but I have friends who are, and a lot of "steampunk" clothing works for my wardrobe once you change the color scheme. Brown, ugh.)

Anyhoodle, yes, Sepiachord companion CD! The Sepiachord crew are all people I am terribly fond of (and don't get to spend nearly enough time with), and I am very excited about the first compilation CD they've put together.

Writing after going out didn't happen because the Infamous BlueJay came over for a bit of socializing. She handed me a stripy blazer (yay!) and a buttonhole machine for my vintage Elna sewing machine. Which she taught me how to use. Now the mysteries of well-made buttonholes are mine, mine! Muah-ha-hah-ha! The Infamous BlueJay also has stated that she is going to teach me how to make waistcoats and jacket-y things, because my fear of sewing princess seams is just silly. I raise a dubious eyebrow at this, but am willing to give it a try.

I am particularly amused by my outfit today. From the waist up, it is very similar to what my avatar in Rock Band is wearing; she's wearing a black blouse with pink tie, but otherwise the same. However, she wears much shorter skirts than me. I have not worn a mid-thigh length mini skirt since I was about 22, and rather Deathrock-ish.

In conclusion, again: send tea, cupcakes, and pretty boys in eyeliner. I need to wake up.

Whoo, not feeling very awake AT ALL.

Thank you for the compliments on yesterday's skirt! It's a replica I made of an skirt by Angelic Pretty. I also made the skirt I am wearing today, and the skirt I'm contemplating wearing tomorrow is also one I made. Huh, I guess I should stop saying I don't sew much.

In conclusion, here, have a Shallow Fashion Details photo. Ah, camera phones.

Y'know, I slept *great* last night. Why am I so tired and fuzzy-brained? Also, I don't know if it's because the tiredness is making me really uncoordinated, but in a spectacular display of grace and agility, I managed to walk out of my shoes. Twice. As in, one of my shoes stayed on the ground when I stepped forward. Maybe evil gremlins secretly replaced my usual black sparkly flats with identical ones that are a half-size larger, I dunno.

The weekend was good. Filled with socializing, including going to the birthday party of a very serious young lady. clicky link! (We gave her EBA recruits, of course.)

Part of the problem with today being filled with gronk is that I'm trying to read the Quick Installation Guide for the product my team produces. I need to set up a test machine with it, but my brain doesn't seem to be taking in any of the information. This is Not Good, obviously. Plus I keep being distracted by [livejournal.com profile] shrift, who is made of awesome. Seriously. You've no notion. [livejournal.com profile] shrift is made of awesome for many, many reasons, but the fact that she shares a certain musical obsession with me (and [livejournal.com profile] bluejay23) just adds to it. ([livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, that was your warning not to click, or else suffer your eyes rolling right out of your head.)

What else, what else? The Placebo concert is this weekend, whee! Oh, and yes, I am attending the Special Gothic Night of Edward Scissorhands next Friday. (Without [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, because he has no desire whatsoever to see a musical stage production of Edward Scissorhands. Try to look surprised at this revelation, go on.)

I would dearly love to see more of you people at social-type things, but my schedule is, um, a bit booked. And I need to work on a book proposal. So don't be terribly surprised if you don't see me out and about very often.
