Y'know, I slept *great* last night. Why am I so tired and fuzzy-brained? Also, I don't know if it's because the tiredness is making me really uncoordinated, but in a spectacular display of grace and agility, I managed to walk out of my shoes. Twice. As in, one of my shoes stayed on the ground when I stepped forward. Maybe evil gremlins secretly replaced my usual black sparkly flats with identical ones that are a half-size larger, I dunno.

The weekend was good. Filled with socializing, including going to the birthday party of a very serious young lady. clicky link! (We gave her EBA recruits, of course.)

Part of the problem with today being filled with gronk is that I'm trying to read the Quick Installation Guide for the product my team produces. I need to set up a test machine with it, but my brain doesn't seem to be taking in any of the information. This is Not Good, obviously. Plus I keep being distracted by [livejournal.com profile] shrift, who is made of awesome. Seriously. You've no notion. [livejournal.com profile] shrift is made of awesome for many, many reasons, but the fact that she shares a certain musical obsession with me (and [livejournal.com profile] bluejay23) just adds to it. ([livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, that was your warning not to click, or else suffer your eyes rolling right out of your head.)

What else, what else? The Placebo concert is this weekend, whee! Oh, and yes, I am attending the Special Gothic Night of Edward Scissorhands next Friday. (Without [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, because he has no desire whatsoever to see a musical stage production of Edward Scissorhands. Try to look surprised at this revelation, go on.)

I would dearly love to see more of you people at social-type things, but my schedule is, um, a bit booked. And I need to work on a book proposal. So don't be terribly surprised if you don't see me out and about very often.

Actually, I found the shrift post very amusing. Probably because she's not my wife.

Have you been taking all the good sleep again? I've been tired and cranky for days now. The other one's been using less of it lately, go take some of her supply.

If I am taking all the good sleep again, it seems to be defective and we should probably return it. But yes, tired and cranky for no reason.

Hmmm... and it sounds like Alexia's sleep has been more effective lately... she must be the one tipping the balance.

Oh, what a face!

I also attended birthday parties this past weekend; one for an elder sister (adopted) and one for a niece (through marriage.) In the former, much amusement and merriment by firelight and in the latter, a bouncy-house.

And I suspect that your shoes have not been replace, but rather your already dainty feet have become more so.

"...he has no desire whatsoever to see a musical stage production of Edward Scissorhands."

So, he and I do have something in common...

Your subject line made me think of

At the very least, I'm looking forward to seeing you at Placebo!

What's this about a musical Edward Scissorhands? Eeee! I wish I could go, but I've already left town three times this semester and am still trying to catch up in the last two weeks of the semester. Even if it isn't Gothic Night, would the show still be running after mid-May when I'd be free to visit Seattle?
