I am now well enough to take a shower and feel worn out afterward. I am well enough that I am OH MY GOD SO DONE with being sequestered on the couch, but if I get up to Do Stuff, I become very tired and woozy. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, I know that feeling better is not the same as entirely well. I'm still going to sulk about it.

Oh! For those of you who wanted to know what the KIB balm I mentioned was: [livejournal.com profile] staxxy makes a fantastic balm named Kiss It Better that works very well on sore muscles, headaches, cramps, scrapes, burns ... look, it's a miracle in a jar, and I have a stockpile. Stax, I can't remember if you have a post explaining about it, because I am fuzzy-brained at the moment.

My vague plan for today involved possibly cutting out a skirt and doing some sewing. After my lovely, but very tiring, shower, I suspect that I need to abandon that vague plan. Maybe I can do some hand-sewing project while flopped on the Couch of Sequestering. Hmmph.

I slept for almost 12 hours. It was wonderful. All hail NyQuil.

I am feeling better, thank goodness. Unfortunately, the Stroppy One is feeling weak and easily tired. People who offered to leave food on our doorstep? I may end up needing to take advantage of those kind offers. I'll send folks email if things come to that.

If I feel well enough today, I am going to attempt to make cold-brewed coffee. Because while my iced tea is lovely, I REALLY REALLY want iced coffee right now. (I also REALLY REALLY want chicken tortilla soup, and a cupcake.)

I did some more plinking around on Polyvore last night. As I've said before, [livejournal.com profile] maiaarts is the Queen of Polyvore; it's a medium she's fantastic in. (Which makes sense, since she has a MFA and is insanely talented.) Me, I just use Polyvore to make style sheets of outfits I like, generally using things I either actually have in my closet, or items that are similar to what I own. Yes, Polyvore is a giant paper doll site for me. Last night, while making the set I posted here, the Stroppy One looked over and said something along the lines of "Oh God, you're Mary Sue-ing Polyvore". He's ... not wrong.
Firstly, a link for you people. The sweet girl who is writing the Gothic Charm School fanfic has put it up on her myspace in her blog: http://www.facebook.com/l/a5a16;Myspace.com/juliet1818

I'm still just tickled by the notion of GCS fanfic. But then, I don't have fourth wall issues AND have accepted that I'm somewhat of a cartoon character. (But thank goodness it's G-rated! No, I DON'T want to read R-rated (or stronger!) fic featuring myself, thanks.)

I have to admit, I have, off and on through the years, toyed with the notion of writing GCS novels. You know, some sort of YA series about the students of Gothic Charm School, what it's like to attend it, wacky hijinks galore. But I always realize that I'd need to write a highly-caricatured version of myself, and that would lead straight to the special hell of Mary Sue-ism. ::shudder::

---

So anyway, the plague. On the plus side, I don't ache AS much as I did yesterday, and I feel a bit better. On the minus side, I'm still coughing, I'm incredibly tired, and moving off of the couch makes me dizzy. The Stroppy One still shows no signs of succumbing to whatever this is, thank goodness. Both of us being sick would be awful and unbearable.

How are all of you folks doing? I do like all the comments; they make me feel less isolated here on the plague couch.

Over on Facebook, I just found Gothic Charm School fanfic.

It's actually quite cute. (And G-rated, thank goodness.)

Does this mean I've hit the Big Time? I am so confused.

In other news, I feel awful. Aches, chills, fever. Dear [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, the KIB balm is VERY VERY GOOD for aches from the flu, thank you.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the Stroppy One doesn't come down with this. And I am planning on being healthy by next Friday, because we have tickets for Wicked, and I AM NOT missing that.
The Closet Culling Sale is being POSTPONED.

Those allergies I've been fighting off? Weren't allergies. I appear to have some form of flu. Local folks, consider myself and the Stroppy One quarantined. (EDITED TO ADD: The Stroppy One is NOT showing any signs of being unwell. But he's not going to go do any socializing, just in case.)

Dammit, dammit, dammit. As soon as I'm well, the clothing sale will happen.
