Firstly, a link for you people. The sweet girl who is writing the Gothic Charm School fanfic has put it up on her myspace in her blog: http://www.facebook.com/l/a5a16;Myspace.com/juliet1818

I'm still just tickled by the notion of GCS fanfic. But then, I don't have fourth wall issues AND have accepted that I'm somewhat of a cartoon character. (But thank goodness it's G-rated! No, I DON'T want to read R-rated (or stronger!) fic featuring myself, thanks.)

I have to admit, I have, off and on through the years, toyed with the notion of writing GCS novels. You know, some sort of YA series about the students of Gothic Charm School, what it's like to attend it, wacky hijinks galore. But I always realize that I'd need to write a highly-caricatured version of myself, and that would lead straight to the special hell of Mary Sue-ism. ::shudder::

---

So anyway, the plague. On the plus side, I don't ache AS much as I did yesterday, and I feel a bit better. On the minus side, I'm still coughing, I'm incredibly tired, and moving off of the couch makes me dizzy. The Stroppy One still shows no signs of succumbing to whatever this is, thank goodness. Both of us being sick would be awful and unbearable.

How are all of you folks doing? I do like all the comments; they make me feel less isolated here on the plague couch.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather :( Drink lots of tea, cuddle the cat and get well soon :)

I hope you recover soon!

As for your enquiry as to how I am, I am looking at some won ebay purchases and going "Oh god did I just buy 30 new CDs?" - the dangers of finding too many great bargains at the same time!

Poor thing! I hope you get to feeling better and back to your batty self in no time!

Here? Up to my neck in dying everything I can some kind of ghostly grey as I've just agreed to become an actor at a huge haunted attraction here and I got to make up my own character and choose my room which fills me with all sorts of delight, even if there's grey paint everywhere now. The birthday week has been good as surprises keep coming in the mail and Laura (friend and photographer) had the store make me PopTart green sugar cookies with spiderwebs on top! If I were closer, I drop by to see you and bring you some!

Well that is good that you don't ache as much . . . it is better than nothing! Not good that you get all dizzy, *sends happy thoughts your way* I know how you feel, I randomly get really sick and am couch ridden for days at a time sometimes. Try watching the classic movie "Singing in the Rain", it is such a cute movie, and the costumes are really pretty.

As for me, I'm doing pretty darn well. I got raise at work . . . I still work part time, but a raise is a raise! I do need new work pants . . . and perhaps save up monies for some gothy goodies. I think I might just get that GCS necklace, it's pretty. Also, my dad found a crisp, near mint condition, Canadian one dollar bill. Yes, apparently we use to have those! And is is stored in a particularly pretty small wooden box decorated with Koi fish and flowers. It has a slight Steam punk vibe to it.

Me: Ugh with work-related and busy-related stress.

But at least I don't have the flu. Yet. :-(

My plague turned out to be the remnants of possibly a bad meal. So yay that it's not the total plague.

Apple came out with new Nanos: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/. I covet. I especially want the fuchsia one. I'm toying between just heading down to the Bellevue Apple store now, or ordering it online (and getting the free engraving). I should do the wise thing and order it, but I'm feeling cooped up on this nice hot and sunny day.

I am on the mend today, so that's only about four days of sick. Hopefully that means that you will be feeling on the upside in the next day or two. My doctor recommeded Delsym to tame the coughing which helped a little. I also keep a pillow to hug when I start coughing, that helps lessen the hurt too.

I am, sadly, at work. I dream of time back at the domicile, where I can pull out my patterns and get to work on (hopefully) gorgeous Victorian and Edwardian clothing.

In black, of course. :)

Although! I did see an advert on Ebay for some jet beaded appliques. However, I don't think I shall buy them. It would only encourage the little fingers and little claws to rip them off. I hope to make beaded appliques of my own, but for less expense. Someday.

I am sorry from a disstance for your plaguatude.
I get the yearly weather change crud of snot filled doom every year and flail about in a flurry of tissues and sticky icky things. In a shameless bid of self promotion have an iteresting clicky link that will not be gothy much yet, biut may still be interesting.

It may while away some of the sneezy hours
get better soon.

Look at it this way, as long as you are stuck in side, you can avoid the glowing orb of doom.

I've got the day off of work. Trying to figure out how to make/buy/piece together a cute Goth marionette costume for Halloween.
I plan on ordering a top hat from Display and Costume, like you said. Anywhere else I should look?

Feel better soon! Being sick is never fun. <3

A comment to make you feel less isolated. ^_^

I'm doing well, all things considered, save that I have to collect my drums and get together with my old band to practice for a memorial show. And I'm hungry. Aside from that, things are good here.

The GCS fanfic does sound interesting; maybe I'll have a read of it one of these days when I'm online away from The Job.

Feel better soon!

I just got back from the gym and this was the first thing on my f-list. I am sad that you are not feeling well.

Treat the symptoms (Headaches, stuffies, Etc.), Move about very slowly and carefully, Ask for help when you need it, And lots of clear fluids and rest.

I am hoping that you will be up and around in no time. Hand washing is also a must!

From: [identity profile] lunakitten.livejournal.com

I hope you're feeling better. I decided to play hooky myself, since I ate something that disagreed with me.

The fanfic is adorable! How cute it that? I'm glad it made you gleeful, and I hope it made you feel a bit less plauge-y.

You are welcome to it- it's from the amazing [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's Secret Life of Dolls series- one of the commenters made it for everyone to enjoy.

Looks like we're getting baseboards installed Monday, which means we can actually put our bedroom together and will no longer be sleeping on the floor as we've done for the last three months! And we can put the bookshelves up and empty the 20,000 boxes of books in the garage!

What did you think of Vampire Diaries? Too Dawson's Creek for me, alas.

From: [identity profile] decemberdreams.livejournal.com

I'm a sick panda too...my kitty is trying to take care of me with lots of love and snuggles. Here's to hoping that we both feel better tomorrow!

I am up and around and making French onion soup! Which is a great improvement over my Four Days Off of Sleeping.

If the usual cold remedies aren't helping, you could always try absinthe!

I think being sent to Mary Sue hell would be worth it, but then, it's easy to say from a distance. =) You could always just be headmistress with relatively little screentime, and a host of charming professors at your beck and call...

(Yes, browncoats: insert "special hell" joke here.)

From: [identity profile] harlequin-elf.livejournal.com

Getting sick myself, after my brother drag something in. What ever it is making the rounds fast. :( AH well, hopefully that mean all our body will be all revved up for the winter, and we shall have no more colds the rest of the season!

No, I DON'T want to read R-rated (or stronger!) fic featuring myself, thanks.

...... Oh.

yay links!

You aren't isolated. You are semi-quarantined. Your physical presence is locked away, but your mental and spiritual presence is out among the rest of us, playing dress up on the internet, skipping and dancing. Just because your BODY isn't up for it, it doesn't mean your SPIRIT ever stops. :)

If it's what my live-in best friend and I have, which it sounds like it is, it will last about 3 or 4 days. Achy-ness will mostly go away by the second day. Have yet to get rid of the runny/stuffy nose.

Take care of yourself, dear!

I have to feel at least well enough tomorrow to go to my own "surprise"
birthday party.

Clearly, you need to contract out the novel-writing. Perhaps a co-author, even.

Oh my, someone needs a beta reader. The exclamation mark abuse is frightening. I can see the potential here, though...it is rather a cute story. On to chapter two!

Thank you for posting a link! It's too bad you don't like the idea of R-rated fic. I've always wondered what polite lust would be like.

I don't know how much good it will do you but maybe you should try some leek soup? I don't recall it ever making me completely healthy but it certainly never made me feel worse.

I'm doing good. There hasn't been work lately so I've been busying myself with other things. I've finally completed my casket case. Yesterday I went hiking around Maple lake where I found some fuzzy acorns, and tomorrow I'm going to Celtic fest here in Chicago.
