Yes, it's time for another round of Jilli culled her closets! The details:

The info about shipping: After staring at the USPS site long enough to be driven mad, I'm going to go with using the flat-rate Priority mail boxes. Which means shipping will be between $9.85 and $13.50 for US addresses, depending on how many items you're getting.

Today

mineke came over and helped me sew buttons onto the dress she made me for the Vampire Ball. Black taffeta, with a faux vest of pink satin in the front, black velvet lapels/trim, and beeeelions and beeeelions of pink satin buttons down the lapels and on the trim. (Plus a b&w striped full skirt, but there are no pink satin buttons on that.)

Eeeee! Oh, it turned out beautifully, and I can't wait to wear it next weekend! Thank you,

So remember that post I made last week-ish about my Wall! Of! Skirts!? And how I mentioned that I had not yet gone through the wardrobe that contains all the jackets? I did that tonight. And I counted!

I ...

... um ....

I have 47 jackets. Yes, all of them are different. Subtly, in some cases, or they're variations on a theme (like the 3 different Lip Service "Bad Etiquette" jackets; 1 black & grey stripe, 1 black & white stripe, and 1 black & pink stripe), but still. Even I didn't think I had 47 jackets.

::feels a bit sheepish::

Dear Self: nope, you do not need any more jackets for a very long while. When moved to idly window-shop on eBay and Etsy, you may look for tiny hats, a full-size black wool top hat, perhaps a full-sized black tricorn, spats, and maybe a few capelets. But not jackets. No more buying jackets. Until the one you've pre-ordered from the Lip Service "Corporate Vampire" line comes in.

Dear Powers That Be,

The cool and cloudy weather right now is lovely, and much appreciated. I'm sure you'll be setting the weather controls back to the blazing orb setting soon, but I'm very grateful for any amount of delicious gloom you care to bestow upon Seattle.

Also, I know I keep saying that I'm going to do another round of clearing/organizing/excavating on the Storage ~~Heap~~ Room o' Dooooom, but it's a little difficult to find the motivation to do so when clothing seems to manifest out of thin air. I have very vague memories of seeing that Victorian-ish jacket before, so perhaps the Storage ~~Heap~~ Room o' Dooooom isn't magically creating new clothing for me out of the random piles of fabric. But it does makes a better story that way.

I realized I may already have the perfect outfit for the C13 tea party. I need to pull out the various bits and bobs and put them all together to see how it works in reality (as opposed to inside my head, last thing at night), and what sort of mending & alterations I need to do, but I love doing that sort of stuff.
