Can someone explain to me why I am randomly coveting the Cambridge satchel in oxblood? I mean, yes, it's a slightly larger version of the vintage Coach bag that I carry pretty frequently, and oxblood is a color that would go with my black/burgundy/pink/b&w stripe wardrobe, but those things still don't explain why I keep looking at them!

I'm not ever giving into this craving, because I have my one Expensive Statement Bag (my LE Haunted Mansion Dooney & Burke bag), and I certainly don't need another. I am taking this craving as proof that I will never, ever be 100% content with whatever bag I'm carrying, and I should just. stop. looking.
At some point, I need to go through everything in the Handbag of Holding and see what of it I really NEED to carry, with an eye toward being able to pare things down and switch to a smaller (lighter!) handbag. Why yes, I am thinking (far) ahead for the trip to Bats Day.

In other news, I am SO BORED with being sick. I am slowly getting better, but I don't have the attention span or energy to do anything, and it's making me cranky. I am a terrible invalid.

In other other news, CRIMSON PEAK TRAILER, OMG. Don't ask how many times I've watched it, because I lost count. I think I want to live in that movie. So what if the house is haunted by (almost certainly) malevolent ghosts? It's gorgeous! AND OH MY G-D THE CLOTHES. Bring on the resurrection of the gothic romance/occult suspense genres, yessssss.

I still want a cupcake pink faux fur "fox" stole from Coquette Faux Furriers. (Not the hot pink shown in the photo, obviously.) A pink fuzzy scarf! With a little face! I could make it talk to people and amuse myself for hours!

OOooh, a cupcake pink faux fur handbag! I don't care about the brand name (because I am not a label snob when it comes to handbags and purses), but I haven't seen anyone other than My Flat In London making vintage-style frame handbags in cupcake pink faux fur. Am I willing to pay $99 plus shipping for it? I dunno. I've coveted it for almost two years now. So darling!

(Nordstrom had it, but now says it's not in stock.)

(And while not fuzzy, this pink & black handbag from them is cute too.)

Soon there will be a post about getting to meet [livejournal.com profile] lord_whimsy on Saturday night (he is *just* as charming as his book), and maybe some burbling about holiday things. But right now? I'm distracting myself from the looming deadline by looking at pink faux fur accessories. I wants them aaaaall!

You would think that with the collection of parasols I have, not to mention the fact that I know how to re-cover using whatever fabrics strike my fancy, that my head would not be turned by someone selling modern parasols.

Yeah, I thought that, too. Until I discovered that there's someone who is making folding parasols and umbrellas with large-ish canopies. And is also making very nice handbags, some of which have loops to securely hold your folded-up parasol.

Pricey, yes. But very, very nice.
