I'm doing this via LJ before I take them off to the FlueMarket.

Size 8.5 "Libby Smith" Fluevog mid-calf boots. They're lovely, but a) they run narrow, and b) the calves run REALLY narrow. As in, 11.5" around the top narrow. They've been worn less than a dozen times.

I'm asking $120 for them. (I paid over $300 for 'em, and they usually go for $150 on the FlueMarket.)

So, anyone desperately need a pair of super-adorable Fluevog boots? Speak up!

Saturday, I went to the Fluevog store on a mission.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Fluevog Lestat. My cliches? Embraced, oh yes.
Last Friday was the publish date for the big deadline at my new tech industry job. I worked a bunch of long days/nights, but it was worth it: our content is useful, and my co-workers now hail me as a miracle worker, which is always nice. Now that we're past the deadline, I'm working on WRITING DOWN the various steps and processes I learned in my trial by fire. Internal documentation, so useful!

Saturday was the Time Travelers Rummage Sale. I did not have time to cull/sort/price clothes or accessories (even tho' I need to, very badly), but the Elder Goth Surprise Bags and Bags! Of! Mystery were popular, and a few people even purchased copies of the Gothic Charm School book!

I spent a chunk of my profit at the sale before it even opened to the public. When a pair of Fluevog boots I've been coveting for YEARS turns up at a rummage sale, I buy them. PERFECT FLUEVOG VAMPIRE BOOTS:

Why yes, those are the Countess Olivia boots. They were notorious for running about a size to a size-and-a-half small, which means a 9.5 fits me perfectly. They were one of the items being sold as part of an estate sale; someone from the local Steampunk community recently passed away, and the folks running that table said they were glad the boots were going to a good home.

Yeah, work and shoes. That's pretty much all I've got, right now. Wait, no! One other thing: we just started watching Penny Dreadful, and OMG THIS SHOW. I think I love it more than Hannibal, and that's saying a lot. We've only seen two episodes so far, but it is every ridiculous gothic horror faux-Victorian thing I've ever wanted. With the exception of the spiders, but I've learned not to watch the opening credits, and other people have warned me which episodes to be wary of.

bloodyteacup

YES, THAT IS A TEACUP OVERFLOWING WITH BLOOD. I wasn't kidding about the ridiculous gothic horror part. Also, I want all the clothes. ALL OF THEM.

I went to the Fluevog store tonight to take a look at the new colorway of the Babycake boots, because HELLO, cherry and black with pink buttons?

The important lesson? Photos on the interwebs liiiiiiiee about colors. In real life, the cherry and the pink are muted and oddly dusty. The colors just aren't saturated enough.

The Mini Bunny shoes, on the other hand?

Perfect. :)
In theory, I like Spring. But pollen and schizophrenic weather means that I'm dealing with some level of a sinus headache almost constantly. And y'know what? I've got a high pain tolerance (which, yes, has occasionally led to me ignoring things that I should have talked to a doctor about, because it's just pain, and I don't want to raise a fuss, and yeah. I know, I know, and I've been lectured about this many times.), so most of the time I just wince and ignore it. But the other night I had a sinus migraine come on so fast that I thought I was going to throw up while on the bus home, and when I DID get home, I flung myself on the couch and clutched an ice pack over the upper right side of my face. Remind me again why trepanation is such a bad idea?

And there are other things going on leading to stress. Nothing for folks to be worried about, just the usual accumulation of Too Much To Do and not enough time or energy. What all of this means is that I am trying to improve my mood by wearing things that I KNOW I love. Such as today's outfit:

Mmm, red velvet. And wacky hair volumizing powder which does indeed give my baby-fine, fly-away hair some gentle lift without needing backcombing or hairspray. I think this is my new favorite hair product.

Oh! LilyElspeth/Lorax of Sex custom-dyed a pair of my vintage Fluevogs. Originally they were black and cream, but now they're black and matches-my-lipstick burgundy:

Tonight, I need to get some writing done and try to go to bed early. Ahahahahaha. Yeah, we'll see if either of those happen.
The Infamous BlueJay stopped by on Monday night to give me my birthday present early.

Vintage Fluevogs! The ones I'd been pining for!

I am very lucky. I have wonderful, wonderful friends. I also have pink & burgundy boots!
