Last Friday was the publish date for the big deadline at my new tech industry job. I worked a bunch of long days/nights, but it was worth it: our content is useful, and my co-workers now hail me as a miracle worker, which is always nice. Now that we're past the deadline, I'm working on WRITING DOWN the various steps and processes I learned in my trial by fire. Internal documentation, so useful!

Saturday was the Time Travelers Rummage Sale. I did not have time to cull/sort/price clothes or accessories (even tho' I need to, very badly), but the Elder Goth Surprise Bags and Bags! Of! Mystery were popular, and a few people even purchased copies of the Gothic Charm School book!

I spent a chunk of my profit at the sale before it even opened to the public. When a pair of Fluevog boots I've been coveting for YEARS turns up at a rummage sale, I buy them. PERFECT FLUEVOG VAMPIRE BOOTS:

Why yes, those are the Countess Olivia boots. They were notorious for running about a size to a size-and-a-half small, which means a 9.5 fits me perfectly. They were one of the items being sold as part of an estate sale; someone from the local Steampunk community recently passed away, and the folks running that table said they were glad the boots were going to a good home.

Yeah, work and shoes. That's pretty much all I've got, right now. Wait, no! One other thing: we just started watching Penny Dreadful, and OMG THIS SHOW. I think I love it more than Hannibal, and that's saying a lot. We've only seen two episodes so far, but it is every ridiculous gothic horror faux-Victorian thing I've ever wanted. With the exception of the spiders, but I've learned not to watch the opening credits, and other people have warned me which episodes to be wary of.

YES, THAT IS A TEACUP OVERFLOWING WITH BLOOD. I wasn't kidding about the ridiculous gothic horror part. Also, I want all the clothes. ALL OF THEM.

where are you watching Penny Dreadful?

and do not forget to check your calendar...

What a great score! We need to try Penny Dreadful but maybe not until we finish Hemlock Grove. I can only handle so much horror at once.

I had a pair of those which I ended up selling because I found them to be really uncomfortable and as such only wore them a few times. I hope you have better luck with them.

FUCK YES BEST BOOTS EVER! Mine are so insanely comfortable that if I weren't compelled to save them for only and all the most special occasions in the future I would have worn them out ages ago. I hope you love them as much as I do, because I think pretty much no one needs to own a pair as much as you! (Except for me. Mine are 11's anyway, they wouldn't fit you. ;) )

Seriously, I know you've been looking for those for a long time, and, loving mine (my only Fluevogs, actually) as much as I do, I'm strangely overjoyed that you found a pair. Boot Compersion. Why not?

Ok, Penny Dreadful: Would this exacerbate the night terrors? Because DEAR GODS I WANT TO WATCH.

I don't know if it would exacerbate the night terrors. I don't think so? But if you want to email me specific Things That Would Be Bad, I could give you a better idea?
