Remember those huge crescent moon brooches from the 80s? Silver(tone), covered in rhinestones? Every vaguely witchy girl I knew in the scene had one?

I want one again. The one I had went walkabout years ago, and now I want to replace it. I want to wear it with my planchette brooch!

Hi, I want all the jewelry that looks like it could be vintage haute couture hexing accessories. Or, as I told [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre today, I have accepted that I want to dress like the vaguely Victorian lovechild of Stevie Nicks and Lestat. Velvet, lace, and witchy bling! Deliver them to me!
(FYI: this is an expansion on a post I made over on Tumblr.)

This is the current incarnation of my talisman necklace.

  • Long strand of amethyst beads (thrift store find, whoo!)

  • Silver key (another thrift store find, double whoo!)

  • Hag's Hand and Mandragora pendants from Raintower on Etsy

I like having this necklace as a long lariat, because it means I can wear it in different ways and still have a length of beads to fidget with. (I have accepted that I need some sort of long necklace to fidget with, but am trying to be better about not wearing noisy-clicky-rattling ones if I'm at movie night. Sorry [livejournal.com profile] theda!)

Here's the dithering part: I want to add at least one more talisman to this (and possibly more), but I can't decide which end I want to add it to.

The ankh is similar in size/weight to the silver key. Should I add it to the end with the key and Mandragora? If I add it to the end with the Hag's Hand, the pestle handle may get caught in the eye of the ankh or something. Should I look for a slightly smaller ankh? (I also have this style of ankh pendant.)

So, suggestions? Opinions? General commentary and saying hi?
