I am flopped on the couch, taking a break and waiting to feel less woozy. This is the conversation that went on inside my head:

MAGPIE PART OF THE BRAIN: OOooh! We should do our usual obsessive searching on eBay and eBay.UK for stripy blazers!

PRACTICAL PART OF THE BRAIN: Really? But we have ::stops to count:: three black & white ones. And three black & pink ones. Surely that's plenty?

MAGPIE PART OF THE BRAIN: OMG THAT IS CRAZYTALK ALL THE STRIPY BLAZERS MUST BELONG TO US.

Honestly, I don't know what it is. But at least once a week, I search for more stripy blazers. Ridiculous, I know.
For whatever reason, my brain decided I wanted to re-read Anne Rice's The Witching Hour. Look, I don't understand why, either, but I've been dawdling through it the past couple of evenings. It's just as much silly, overwrought fun as I remembered. Oooh, the bombast!

The only problem is, the book is making me crave gumbo. Really, REALLY crave gumbo. Which is so far beyond my cooking skills as to be laughable. And I have no idea where I would go in Seattle to find good gumbo.

Woe. Woe is me and my craving for gumbo. Oh well, back to reading the silly, oh-so-gawthic, novel.
The weather continues to be lovely. Cool, cloudy, and occasional rain. Weather that allows me to wear tights! And jackets! Yes, I know, there are swarms of you sulking because The Orb went away, but I am enjoying this weather while it's around.

I have a nigh-overwhelming craving for a really good iced Americano and some sort of starchy sweet thing. So really, I am craving an iced Americano and a pan au chocolat from Cafe Besalu. Which is nowhere near my office; as in, other side of the lake nowhere near. Dammit.

(No, going to the coffee stand at work is not even remotely a good substitute. The coffee at work is okay if you absolutely need a hit of caffeine and aren't too fussy about the taste.)

::holds up GothCard for a cliché stamp:: What is one of the only apps I have purchased from the iPhone app store? No, not any of the ones that make wacky noises, but the eBook of Dracula. Because having a copy of Dracula with me at all times makes me happy.

SFDs! I'll try and take a photo tonight, because there was no time this morning.Behind a cut-tag as always ... )

Coming soon to this LJ, if I have the time: makeup reviews (China Glaze "Lubu Heels" nail polish, MAC "Bing" lipstick from the Cult of Cherry set), and a couple of YA book reviews (Generation Dead by Daniel Waters, and Vamps by Nancy A. Collins. A brief tangent: NANCY A. COLLINS IS WRITING YA, WHAT? I am confused.)

Wow, I really want good coffee. ::sigh::
