The MAC Originals contest ended yesterday. I remembered this, and decided to go look at the site for it to see if there were any announcements about winners. There was an announcement, all right:

NOTICE: The MAC Originals Contest has been modified in accordance with the Contest Rules. We regret that the MAC Originals Contest is unable to be executed as planned due to technical issues which affect the administration of the voting for the Contest. All eligible entries received will be included in a random drawing to award the prizes. Potential winners will be notified by February 15.

The modified rules text:
To Enter

Go to http://www.maccosmetics.com/originals (the "Entry Site"). Entrants must register to enter contest. Contest requires an upload of a photo, plus a 200 character description on why they are a "MAC Original". All entries on the site must be received by 11:59 PM EST on January 31, 2008. All "votes" must be received by 11:59 PM EST on February 8, 2008. Unless the entrant otherwise agrees, any information collected through the Contest shall be used only to administer the Contest in accordance with these Official Rules and applicable law.

So, they're not going with the most "popular" entry winning. How very, very interesting. But hey, that means I still have a faint chance of winning!

In other news, I am at the office. I felt well enough to put on eyeliner and get dressed, so that means I'm well enough to leave the house. I'm still woozy, congested, and prone to headaches, but I feel better than I have in *days*. Now to get caught up on whatever things piled up while I was gone ...

Ugh. Last night I indulged in the Green Coma of NyQuil, and pretty much passed out. This, sadly, did not make me feel any better today. In fact, I kinda feel worse. Dear Plague Demons, I've got things I need to do, so please leave me alone.

Today is the birthday of many wonderful people, including staxxy and torreybird. (In fact, January is the Month Of Birthdays for my social circle, including my mom.) I hope everyone has a wonderful year filled with good luck and good health.

MAC is running an "Are You a MAC Original?" contest. Which is, when you get right down to it, a popularity contest, because in order to win, you have to get the most votes on your profile.

Do I think I have a real chance of winning? Eh, probably not. But hey, if I don't try, I have NO chance, right? Right.

So! My profile is here. (Yesyes, clicky-link) A person can vote only once a day, and I think you have to have a log-in on the MAC site, but I'm not sure.
