Dear Publishing Company that produced the Cupcake page-a-day calendar:

Look, just because something can be made in a paper baking cup does not mean it's a cupcake. Sure, s'more "cupcakes" sound good, but they're not REAL cupcakes. They're just s'mores made in the oven, and everyone knows that half the fun of making s'mores is setting fire to the damn marshmallows.

(Yes, a very nice person gave me the Cupcake calendar. I feel strangely compelled to bake more. Will I manage to actually do so? Who knows!?)

(Y'know, I really need to get a photo taken of me holding a cupcake, so I can turn it into an LJ icon.)

[livejournal.com profile] serenada and [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage both noticed the total looked odd when they went to vote for me in the MAC contest. MAC has added this note (emphasis [livejournal.com profile] serenada's: Contest Notice Through the monitoring of votes for this contest, we have identified duplicate votes. Votes have been reset to eliminate duplicate votes. As a reminder the voting rules are: customers must be signed into their MAC Cosmetics online account; each customer can only vote once per day; and each customer can only vote for each entry once.

Well drat. Thank you to everyone that did vote for me!

That's just odd, that you can only vote once for each entrant. What's the point? And why did they not set up the voting system to allow that, then? It only allows you once per day, it tracks that and disallows voting more than once per day, why not set up the same for multiple votes for the same entrant? Sounds like they changed their minds mid-way through the contest, honestly...

And I find it hard to believe the frontrunners had THAT MANY different voters. I mean, really. (And most of the frontrunners are kinda BORING...not all that original, if you ask me. And the chick with the green lizard-eyelids? That just looks like something tacky they put on fat chicks in TV shows (ala Drew Carey's show); seen it so many times before...just because it's on a skinny chick doesn't make it original. (My 2 francs...)

By the way, I was extolling your wonderfulness down at the teen center last night; they were moaning about how you couldn't do things like the makeup/hair when you were an "adult." It led into a whole weird and fun discussion of what "goth" was and what "witch" was, and reclaiming words, and all sorts of fun. :)

Some day, I would actually love to take you down there and have you talk about how you managed to get where you are (successful, responsible adult) yet maintain your unique look/style/attitude, and how manners and such play into that. Would you be interested? I would, of course, be willing to give you a ride home afterwards. Think about it, let me know...

YES! THIS! I can't imagine the top 10 right now having THAT many different voters--please! BORING!!!! And what is it with the chick with the smooshed up mouth? She thought long and hard about the most attractive face she could muster?

Only once a day, but only once per entrant? That makes no sense, right?

eh, oh well.

OK that's weird. I just went to the sight and it doesn't look like anything has been re-set. I even re-loaded the page...

Dude. Cupcake a day? Do let me know if any of them are super yummy sounding....

Wait, what? Does this mean I can't vote for you every day? I could only vote for you once?!
