SteamCon was LOT of fun. My schedule was really odd and scattered, and I didn't get to go to anywhere near as many things I wanted too. But I got to spend time with some wonderful friends, I met amazing people, and saw wall-to-wall fantastic outfits. I got to wear a fabulous outfit by [livejournal.com profile] kambriel in two fashion shows, purchased delicious tea, and discovered what two friends from high school are up to.

(I also discovered that MAC Prep & Prime will reflect flash from photography to an extent that it looks like I'm wearing whiteface. Hmmm, I am not thrilled about this.)

Would I go to SteamCon again? Yes, almost certainly. Wall-to-wall eye candy, people.

And now, I get [livejournal.com profile] kambriel and Curse as guests for the next few days! Wheeee!

The black with pink-with-white-stripes looked absolutely perfect on you - kudos both to you and to Kambriel!

Prep and prime is a matte transparent powder, isn't it? I wpuld think that it would work fine under strobes unless they were at a strange angle...

Mac Prep & Prime is a a SPF50 lotion that also is a fantastic makeup primer. Just apparently not under some flash photography conditions. Argh!

Ah. All I knew of was the finishing powder (http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=117841/MAC_Prep_+_Prime_Transparent_Finishing_Powder_/MAC/Loose_Powders).

If you're going to do many photo shoots it might be useful for you to do some lighting tests to see what happens.

Which tea did you get? I was interested in a couple of them on Friday, but they either weren't tasting them or didn't have smell-testers out, and K was kind of impatient at that point, so we went away, and then I never got back to see if I could check things out further.

I picked up Imperial Breakfast and the chai blend. And was given a sample of the Heavy Pettifour and Prairie Flowers.

The two gentleman who run the tea emporium? Are friends from high school. Small world, indeed!

I have their Chocolate and Rose Petal blend, an Earl Gray lavender, and some Chamomile they gave all the vendors at the end. I could give you samples if you like...

I had a chance to look over the pictures from the runway show, and to exchange messages with the photographer about the lightiing: I don't think it was your makeup that was the problem. There were several people who showed the same effect, including Kambriel, and I think it was a problem with the color and intensity of lights along the runway. I suspect the LED strip lights along the runway were the culprits - the light is very blue and contrasty, and looks blue-white to the camera. It's especially noticeable on the folks who have pale complexions, but it shows to some degree on almost everyone.
