I think my outfit plan for Vespertine this weekend just changed.

  • Cascading ivory lace & chiffon giant skirt over petticoats.

  • Black corset.

  • Black velvet high-collared tailcoat with flouncy sleeves (Mine is slightly different, as I added a waistcoat front to it.) (clicky-link!) No bow/jabot at the collar, but worn with the planchette brooch. (clicky-link!)

  • Cascades of glass pearls and belled necklaces*, hanging from large jet brooches on each lapel. (Note to self: tonight sew all the pearls and bells onto the ribbon backings for them to hang from.)

  • Big hair: the updo/Bride of Frankenstein version.

  • Flower crown w/ white roses, crystal and pearl accents, and maybe fresh holly from my back yard.**

  • Comfy boots which no one will see under the skirt!

*I am waffling about the belled necklaces. It's not like anyone would really be able to hear them above the music, but they'd make me happy.

**Would the holly be Too Much? I don't think it would, but I am notorious for just wanting to stick All The Things On My Head.

Opinions? Comments? Talk to me, people, I'm full of dithering.

So I thought I had decided on what I was wearing to the Bats Day Swinging Wake masquerade, but it turns out masks/costumes are compulsory. I don't like wearing masks with my glasses (ugh!), and contact lenses are no longer possible for me. So, my options

- I could pull together the Victorianish genderswapped Beetlejuice outfit again, but I don't know if I want to deal with the makeup and the elaborate hair. Tho' it is a pretty awesome outfit.

- I could wear the soon-to-arrive black sequined full skirt, the Suspiria Gown from Kambriel (probably worn backwards, with the hood transformed/bound up into a jabot, and with a waist cincher), Dramatic Makeup, and a top hat with a face-covering veil, similar to this one:

I dunno. And I have three weeks to make up my mind.
Is there a word that expresses the exasperated regret and longing a person experiences when they realized that at one point they owned the exact clothing item they're searching eBay and Etsy for, but sold it off at some point?

Yeah.
