I think my outfit plan for Vespertine this weekend just changed.
*I am waffling about the belled necklaces. It's not like anyone would really be able to hear them above the music, but they'd make me happy.
**Would the holly be Too Much? I don't think it would, but I am notorious for just wanting to stick All The Things On My Head.
Opinions? Comments? Talk to me, people, I'm full of dithering.
- Cascading ivory lace & chiffon giant skirt over petticoats.
- Black corset.
- Black velvet high-collared tailcoat with flouncy sleeves (Mine is slightly different, as I added a waistcoat front to it.) (clicky-link!) No bow/jabot at the collar, but worn with the planchette brooch. (clicky-link!)
- Cascades of glass pearls and belled necklaces*, hanging from large jet brooches on each lapel. (Note to self: tonight sew all the pearls and bells onto the ribbon backings for them to hang from.)
- Big hair: the updo/Bride of Frankenstein version.
- Flower crown w/ white roses, crystal and pearl accents, and maybe fresh holly from my back yard.**
- Comfy boots which no one will see under the skirt!

I'm always in favor of holly for winter celebrations, but I'd suggest adding a boutoniere of it to the jacket to tie the idea together.

wear the bells, they will make you happy and if you leave them off you will miss them.
And again I remind you to take lots and lots of pictures of the crown. I want to see them, but it occurs to me now that they would make an excellent "how to" gcs post (and hey, you are doing it anyway, so take advantage of your own time to double down on efficiency).
