Hey look, another comment on a post at Jezebel!

Japanese Princess Girls Live Life Like A Fairy Tale (clicky-link!)

thatonegirl says: "There is a woman at my company who dresses like these women do EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

Except it's black and pink and more gothy, but seriously, so much effort! Why for?"

Oh, that's an easy question to answer, thatonegirl. Because I like to. Because it makes me happy.

(I am SO TEMPTED to actually sign up for a user ID at Jezebel and reply to her comment. I probably won't (and I probably shouldn't), but it is tempting.)
Question the First: A friend who is helping organize an event is looking for "any gothy/horrific/freakshow type performers around Seattle". Give me suggestions, folks!

Semi-random update: The Punk Rock Flea Market was fun, but really really slow. I still have a bunch of clothes and shoes left, which means I should try to find the time to take photos and sell all of it via LJ. "Find the time", oh that's funny. I'm laughing and laughing over here, and I swear that it sounds nothing like hysteria. Really. (You know, I can tell when you people are just humoring me.)

I had a fairly odd encounter over the weekend while late-night grocery shopping; a complete stranger complimented me on my outfit, then started rummaging in her pockets while saying "If I give you my email address, will you send me photos?". I smiled in a polite manner, took the piece of paper she handed me with her email address, and then left the grocery store as soon as possible. Everyone compliment [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage on his restraint, because not only did he NOT ask the lady if she was insane, but he kept a neutral expression on his face until we were inside our car. I'm sure in that her head there was an explanation for the asking for photos; maybe she's a costumer, or a designer? But she certainly didn't give me any sort of context, that's for sure.

Question the second: I'm looking for a particular style of jacket/blazer, and figured the great LJ hivemind might be able to help. I want a black, light-weight Victorian-esque jacket that is waist-length, princess-seamed, and has a mandarin collar. In other words, something like this one (clicky-link!), but preferably not $60 + shipping.
Dear woman in the restroom who was dressed as if multiple copies of Lucky magazine had thrown up on her;

I, while as confused by what you chose to wear as you are by my fashion tastes, did not burst into nervous, ever-so-slightly terrified giggles at the sight of you. Please learn some decorum and composure before you go interact with the rest of humanity.

With kind intentions,

Cupcake Goth
