Ahahahahaha. Have you met me? I traveled to another state to see two back-to-back My Chemical Romance concerts. I'm going to see Adam Lambert next week.

Mind you, I'm almost completely ignorant of mainstream music, just because I don't listen to the radio or watch whatever passes for "music video" channels any more. I learn about new music by friends going "Listen to this! Watch this video!" (Or in some cases "Watch this pretty ice skating boy do a routine to Lady GaGa!") But I think obscure bands becoming popular is a good thing, because that means the musicians can (maybe) start supporting themselves through their art.

Other stuff: Yes, I did get a Monster High Draculaura doll. She is sitting at home in her box, and I am waiting for the right time to introduce her to Lucretia Evangeline. Who may be slightly miffed about the new addition to the doll family, because HELLO, Lucretia is pining to become a vampire, and Draculaura already is one. I suspect Lucretia is going to be writing some angsty letters to G. (the Infamous BlueJay's vampire boy), while Hellboy shakes his head at her.

From Ye Olde Tumblr Feed: A current photo of Andrew Eldritch. Huh.
Lucretia Evangeline Ghastly and Hellboy have a conversation. Behind the cut, to spare non-doll people. )

(I really need to work on my (laughable!) photography skills.)

Today is the next-to-last-day of my current work contract. On the one hand, looming unemployment and job-hunting, ugh. On the other hand, time to work on the novel I started writing on New Year's Day, time to finish clearing out the Storage Heap Room o' Doom, and time to make stuff to sell at Mourning Market and my eventually-to-be-launched Etsy store. So, mostly yay, I think.

My Dad, because he is a helper and an enabler, made the brilliant suggestion that I need to find an oversized bird cage to keep my doll in. Like this, or this, or this! (yes yes, clicky-links to eBay.) My friends who have long listened to me talk about my need for decorative cages to keep decorative people in understand why this suggestion is so appealing to me.

Speaking of my Evangeline Ghastly doll, I realized that I'm not entirely decided on her name. I thought it was Lucretia, but then the Stroppy One suggested Pandora. But neither of those seemed to stick, which I think means I haven't found her name yet. Vexing, very vexing.

Awwww! Jake von Slatt over at Steampunk Workshop wrote a very nice review and article about the Gothic Charm School book! (clicky-link!)

Everyone needs to go read the newest law of the Internet, because it is BRILLIANT: http://www.racialicious.com/2009/12/21/and-we-shall-call-this-moffs-law/

And finally, here, have a SFD photo (EDIT: bah, I don't like my expression or how I was tilting my head in this picture, but it shows the details of the outfit):

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Guess what I've spent all day doing?

Yes, playing with my new doll. I ... don't think the Stroppy One quite realized the level of crazy finally getting a gothy-goth doll of my own would unleash. You would think he would have realized this, considering [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny's presence in our lives, but no. He didn't.

(To be honest, [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny is not one for accumulating clothes. He likes getting new bow-ties occasionally, but would much rather have minions and a zombie army. Which means that the full strength of my "Oooooh, doll! Doll clothes and accessories!" madness might not have been easy to gauge.)

Come, join me in this mild insanity. Really, it's fun! )

I am giddy with delight over having Lucretia in my life. [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny is thrilled that there is a gothygirl that he is bigger than, and thus thinks that he'll be able to boss her around. That's going to be interesting to watch.

Now, back to finding more accessories for her. A real quote from our house today: "Ooooh! My mini glow-in-the-dark crow skull is the right size for her hands!"
