(Which you've already seen if you follow me on other social media places.)

(Yes, someone at the club asked me if I was a Christmas caroler. ::sigh::)

(The eyeshadow is Cupid (light pink matte), Gothic (shimmery red), Bleeding Poppy (shimmery burgundy), and Edie (super shimmery pink), all from Aromaleigh.)

Last night was wonderful. There were a bunch of my favorite people out, who made sure to keep me distracted when the DJs played songs that triggered my OMG MUST DANCE NOW! reaction. (Dammit, that was the first time I've not danced to "Bloodletting" by Concrete Blonde at a club, ever. Grrr!)

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] sistawendy! Welcome to being a girl, dearheart. I'm very happy for you.
Help help! I need full-body, preferably standing, photos of a typical gothy girl and gothy boy. (One of each.) They're for a TV interview. If you've got photos of yourself that you wouldn't mind letting me use, please let me know!

EDIT: Whoo, problem solved! Donna, thank you so much!

My darling Stunt Husband is going to be out of town this weekend, woe! Any of you Seattle-types want to be my companion and carpool to Club V on Saturday night? ::makes hypno-wheel motions at [livejournal.com profile] weaselmom::
Thanks to the kindness of the Stroppy One, I *will* be at Club V for a few hours tonight. In the tradition of all good fairy tales, I'm vanishing at midnight. (Not turning into a pumpkin, vanishing. Important difference there, folks.) But I get to go out for a little bit, yay! And after the way my week has been, I need it.

So, who might I see there?

(Yes, I know the Unhallowed Metropolis event at the Merc was last night, which means not as many people may be going out tonight. I hope the UnMet event was good, and later today I am going to seek out photos from it.)
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who came out last night and wished me a happy birthday! I had a wonderful time last night. (And am drinking my second pot of tea in an attempt to wake up.)

Because I am a scatterbrain, I didn't bring my camera. I know that [livejournal.com profile] tolkiencub and [livejournal.com profile] geekmachine took some photos, though.

Now, to wake up enough to do the final bits of work on the manuscript. Then dinner tonight with the parents, yay!

Thank you again, everyone. It was a lovely night.
Come out to Club V tomorrow night and help me celebrate my birthday! (I would especially love it if people dressed up, no surprise there.)

For those who've attended Club V before: I won't be at the "usual table". (yes, there is a usual table. shush.) When I'm not on the dance floor, I'll be in the back room. Please stop by and say hi!

(Also, the birthday festivities include a rare out-at-the-club appearance of [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage. Yes, for my birthday I get to go out with The Husband and The Stunt Husband!)

So! If you can come to Club V tomorrow night, I'd be delighted to see you.

Saturday, November 15th at Club V: my birthday party! Come help me celebrate turning 40 (on Monday, but I'm having the party early)!

I've got other stuff I want to post about, but I need to run to my next meeting.
Last night's edition of Club V at Neighbors Downstairs was fantastic. I REALLY like the new space. It has a good dance floor, tables and chairs in sensible arrangements, and doesn't feel like a basement rec-room. After all my complaining about the subject, it's nice to finally have a good non-smoking club night on a weekend. A not so-subtle hint to local folks: it would be awfully nice to see more dressed-up gothy types there on a regular basis ...

(Waits for the mutterings of "Dressed up? During the summer? She IS crazy, isn't she?!" to subside. C'mon peoples! I Dress Up for going dancing, and I haven't melted or passed out yet! Even with corsets. You Can Do It, I believe in you! ::grin::)

Meme-time! As seen all over my Friends List:

Rules:
* Post 3 things you've done that you believe nobody else on your F-list has done.
* If anybody responds with "I've done that," add another thing.
* Encourage your friends to paste this into their own journal to list the unique things they've done.

1. Done hair and makeup for the original line-up of Alice n' Chains before various shows.

2. Stood on the side of the stage as the Sisters of Mercy performed "Dominion/Mother Russia".

3. Took a photo of Ray Bradbury holding my beloved [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny.

I will be avoiding the outdoors again today. I hope all of you watching or marching in the Pride parade today have a wonderful time, and drink LOTS of water.
