Dammit, fandom is luring me into (eventually) watching Teen Wolf. This is particularly ridiculous because 1) werewolves are SO NOT my thing, and 2) every photo I've seen of the actors makes me tilt my head and go "I'm sure you're attractive to many people, but not to my tastes, thanks". But noooo, one of my absolute favorite writers* has started writing in Teen Wolf fandom. Hence, I'm going to get dragged into watching the show.

G-d dammit, this is how I ended up watching Supernatural.

*Let me put it this way: I am talking about the writer who wrote my ALL-TIME favorite fics; the giant novel-length fic which I have saved in some sort of ebook format on every device it can be stored on. Yes, I have Bandpires on my phone.

A huge part of why I started watching the BBC's Sherlock is that one of my favorite Harry/Draco slash authors was writing John/Sherlock slash.

And now Sherlock has basically taken over my entire life. And I've found tons more slash authors I really like.

....I've been thinking of trying Supernatural. Mostly because so many Sherlock/Doctor Who fans love it.

Bandpires? I don't know what you're referring to; and, somehow, I need to. Deeply. Might I trouble you for a link?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

I am checking with the author for a clicky-link.

Bandpires is this amazing vampire/werewolves/ridiculousness AU fic for bandom - My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, Panic! at the Disco, and so on. But it's so engrossing and fun that it doesn't really matter if you don't follow those bands or know who those people are; the story and dialogue is just fantastic.

Sounds fabulous! Thank you!

If a link is not obtainable, then the author's name would be awesome, if you can. I may possibly have ... some acquaintance with finding Bandom fic.

And also: I <3 your icon. Very much.

I'm sorry it took me a bit to reply! But here, here is the link to Bandpires: http://navysheets.livejournal.com/

I've been rereading it (again), and I just ... it's so much fun. I hope you like it.

Yes, I have Bandpires on my phone.

The rule is that if you can put Bandpires on a device, you do.

If I never publish another book I'll still have you two.

Um... which fandom is Bandpires related to? Google is being unhelpful. Is it MCR/something?

I stayed up until 1 in the morning reading an utterly cracktastic Garrus/Femshep/rescued baby turian fic, which I came across through utterly random Mass Effect-based sources, and I'm not even much of a fic reader, but OH MY GOD IT'S SO GOOD and it captured the in-character banter perfectly and IT'S NOT FINISHED AND I WANT MOOOOORE! *wah*

Signed,

21 chapters in and totally hooked <3!

Yes, Bandpires is a bandom AU, so MCR, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, Panic! at the Disco ... DON'T JUDGE ME, OKAY? GERARD WAY AS A VAMPIRE IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS.

The thing is, Bandpires is so engrossing and snappily written that it doesn't matter if you don't follow those bands, or if you have no idea who those people are. It's just a lot of fun. [livejournal.com profile] cass404 and I quote it at each other all the time.

I'm checking with the author about where the archive is, because ha! I don't have a handy link anymore, because I have saved text files and whatnot.

Looking forward to finding out where the archive is, if you hear back! :)

I don't know whether or not it's my cuppa, but I'm happy to find out! I'm a sucker for snappy banter and an engaging storyline :D

*hugs!*

So in case I didn't give you the clicky-link (I blame work eating my brain): http://navysheets.livejournal.com/

Bandpires is really, REALLY my favorite fic of all time.

Ohoho! (This is what I get for reading my comments in e-mail -- disregard last comment!)

Thank you! ^__^

OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS POST EVEN.

The actors grow on you. I know Derek seems weird looking but you just accept it after a while.

HI KASSIE I LOVE YOU AND YOUR BRAAAAAAAAINS. Even if you writing is the tipping point for me getting into ridiculous tv shows.

Is the community for bandpires still up somewhere? Or should I point people at tags?

From: [identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com

It's still there http://navysheets.livejournal.com/ but I have no idea what email the comments go to, so tell people not to get mad if I don't reply.

Also, your ridiculousness made my day. Thank you.
