Because I'm on a kick of looking for gothy "statement" necklaces, with skulls. Like ooooh, this Tarina Tarantino White Widow necklace. (clicky-link!)

Or this Betsey Johnson "Vintage Vicky" necklace. (yes, clicky-link!)

Or even this sort of necklace, made from all sorts of bits of vintage jewelry. (yet another clicky-link!)

(Okay, that one isn't the right colors for me, but I like the idea of it.)
One the one hand, I could make a necklace like that pretty easily. (Hoo boy, could I. My stash of vintage jewelry bits is kind of astonishing.) But would I ever wear it? Would it just look like a mess with my style? These are the things I'm not sure of.
This post brought to you by looking for distractions of shiny things, obviously. ::grin::

Are they gothy? definitely.
Are they going to look like a mess when paired with anything I have ever seen you wearing in the last 10 years(in person or in photographs)? Yes. These would look great with the style you had 20 years ago - simple princess seems with a more ragged bohemian flare around the edges, as it would have brought more of that chaos from the edges into the center as well.
Are you *way too busty* to wear something like that last one without it over-balancing your top half? Alas, yes. I am sorry sugar, but you have way too much top shelf to wear something as chunky and chaotic as that without *really* toning down the extreme angles your curves have. You would not be terribly happy with the final look and your husband would make a face. I might make a face too, honestly.
Do you have all the ingredients to make something a little less haphazard but still in the over-the-top lots of shiny that *will* look good with your figure and style, and the skills to make it happen? Yes. I really think you can MAKE something that is actually in keeping with your style and flair but also *suits you* more than these.
