Thanks to one of my co-workers who kindly offered to take it for me. Please note, no top hat today!

Because of comments from certain people, I am contemplating taking up embroidery so I can adorn some of my bloomers with the phrase "crankypants". It would make me laugh and laugh and laugh.

I'm surprised somebody on Etsy hasn't made embroidered "crankypants" bloomers. Bec. they would TOTALLY sell out. (Yes, I'd buy a pair!)

I really am seriously thinking of doing it. Which is just silly, because do I have time for another hobby? Nooooo. But they would be so cute.

I suggest a style with embroidery across the butt (c'mon, it has to be done!) & one with the words along the leg ruffles (so it can peek out from under skirts). Of course, I despise embroidering, so this is academic for me -- but I'd gladly pay you for a pair or trade for a garment that I *do* enjoy making!!!

Hmm... I should check to see if my mom's embroidery machine does letters...

I love it. I like these posts. I read several blogs were people post what they wore that day, so I like it.

I love seeing your outfits =) You look really beautiful.

I have always wondered if it was alright to mix different kinds of stripes...now that I see that you have done it I know it's fine. Been watching your videos on Youtube and they are amazing I wish you were making them when I was first started out wearing the darker clothing it would have made my mom feel better about it.

You are always so beautiful! My MIL has enjoyed seeing your outfits as well. She thinks you're very cute (and very lucky to work where you can dress in such an elegant fashion)

Is that a small tricorn?

Aw, thank you! (And tell your MIL thank you for me, too.)

Yes, that is a small-ish tricorn. But larger than my usual mini tricorns.

I love how you coordinated all your stripes.

that's a loverly ensemble..and heh on the crankypants!
You could always get embroidered "Cranksy Von Crankypants" somewhere on your vest in a nice script

Cute. Love the hat. No, I don't plan on running away with it.
Look! Cupcakes!!!

I wouldn't mind having a pair of "crankypants" bloomers. It would make me giggle.

I'm fairly competent at crewelwork. And I'd happily embroider any number of bloomers with "crankypants" in exchange for a pair of bloomers for myself!

You always look so cute. I'm pretty jealous of your skirts. And your clothes in general. ;)

I love the whole ensemble here, Jill! Esp. the brooch on your shirt which is very old-world. Just wondering: do you plan your outfit the night before? Or do you work it all out in the morning before leaving the house to go to work? Just curious about that. (I always struggle to find time in the morning to get organised with an outfit etc. Dp you have any tips to make it any easier?)

You mean the pink brooch on the lapel of the waistcoat? You can't tell in the photo, but it's a pink & black skull cameo with dangling chains and a safety pin. :D

I plan my outfit the night before, usually while I'm waiting to drift off to sleep. If it's an outfit where one of the pieces is something I haven't worn before, I may give it a test try-on the night before, just to make sure there aren't any awkward surprises waiting for me.

My big tips for making outfit choices easier are ones that make it easier in the long run, but may be a pain in the short-term: decide what sort of styles (and color schemes!) you prefer and work on you, and then stick to them. In other words, develop a personal style, don't follow fashion trends. :)

Yes, that's the brooch I mean! Didn't realise it was a cameo... Simply divine!

Thanks for all the tips and advice Jilli! I really appreciate it! :o)
I will keep it in mind.

I'll try to go through my wardrobe before I go to bed and pick the items I plan to wear and put them aside. That way I know where to start anyway.
Luckily I already know what styles and color schemes I prefer etc, so it's just a matter of remembering to organise it all before going to sleep!

Do you organise everything the night before, including the accessories, pins and jewellery too? Or just the garments?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Usually just the garments. And sometimes the hat, if I'm not wearing one of my usual.

I'm glad my tips might be useful to you!

You know, a local quilt shop or sewing machine store might allow you to try out an embroidery machine as a demo; just b.y.o.b.* and there you go!

*bring your own bloomers, natch!

I must say, in the short time I've known of your existence, I've grown used to the top hats. You look different without them.

Lovely, absolutely lovely.
There is no question looking at you that you are a LADY!
Wish I had the figure (and self confidence) to wear such lady-like attire.
I know you dont mean to...but as I sit here @ work in my pink t-shirt & chocolate brown cords with a ponytail in a scrunchie, you make me look like a schlump.
You motivate me to try harder when I dress for work.
