Firstly, everyone should go read The Strange Case Of Mr. Salad Monday over at Tor.com. A story full of all sorts of steampunk-ish fun which I thought was wonderful.

Going to work orientation was fine. Ambien did indeed knock me right out, hurrah! (Send your pity to the Stroppy One, however, who got to bed very very late because of a deadline he's working on.) Orientation was exactly what I expected it to be: filling out paperwork and pep talks. Eh, whatever. I have a job!

---

This week involves filming some stuff for another GCS video, and then going to see Emilie Autumn and visiting friends! (Oooh, and going to Sock Dreams and Powells, yes.) And our wedding anniversary! Yes, we got married on Halloween. Of course we did!

(What the heck am I going to wear to the EA concert? Must dither over wardrobe.)

This week also involves working on two or three different writing projects, so I can get as much as possible done before the start of the new job next week. Sadly, my brain doesn't feel very capable of proper writing right now. Oh dear.

Another clicky-link! Redemption Klothing, the sweethearts, have posted the photos for the Lip Service Lolita Candy line. I. Am. DOOMED. Strangely, the black-on-black stripe colorway doesn't appeal to me. But the black and pink? YES PLEASE NOW NOW NOW. I want at least one of everything, including the men's shirt, in the black and pink stripe.

Happy almost wedding anniversary. What did you wear? My boyfriend proposed to me on Halloween 2000 Whilst I was dressed as a witch :D

That "Snap Front Shirt" Lip Service Shirt looks very similar to the Retroscope Fashion's "Victorian Sleeveless Blouse". But I digress, I still love the designs Lip Service has put out.

Now, how come I never saw the Lady at Steamcon?

The coat is especially striking -- I'm not usually attracted to ruffles for my own self, but that made me go "OOOH" and lean in verrry close to the monitor. :)

weird...

They have a pink/black striped, long-sleeved oxford shirt, paired with a black vest modeled by the exact same person I made a one of a kind pink/black striped, long-sleeved oxford shirt paired with a black for an awards event last year. Perhaps it's just coincidence, but ah well...

Re: weird...

I've shrugged some other similar things off (like a leg 'o mutton coatdress type design made from black moire), but this is really getting be quite obvious that someone there may be "paying attention" to my designs.

Yaaaay! Wedding anniversary! Congratulations!

That cost by LS . . . need it. And the layered skirt. And the corset. That ladies coat with the pink/black stripes on the liner, it SCREAMS you. I . . . . need to save up my pennies and some of those lovely articles of clothing! Good thing you have a job now, you can save up and get the pretty pretty frilly things!

Oooo! EA in concert? Lucky!

From: [identity profile] caleidescopeyes.livejournal.com

Yeah. That long-sleeved jacked is going to be mine. I'll need to have a little talk with my bank account, so it can prepare emotionally for the impending loss.

And, of course, happy anniversary! Lovely lovely.

From: [identity profile] tinkerbell86ca.livejournal.com

I think I will have to have a chat with my account as well and let it know that I will be spending lots of money on a pretty frilly jacket, ya know, just to prepare it.

Are you getting the black/black one or the black/pink one?

From: [identity profile] caleidescopeyes.livejournal.com

Hmmm...

Probably the black-on-black, simply because it'll be more versatile (is that possible for a Goth's wardrobe? I don't know. I'm a loon).
In a perfect world, I'd get one of both. However, I think I can already hear my bank account hyperventilating.

What do *you* have your eye on?

From: [identity profile] tinkerbell86ca.livejournal.com

The skirt . . . maybe in black/black . . . but the b/p is cute to!

The corset thing in b/b.

And THAT COAT in b/p because it is just the lining so why not go wild?

From: [identity profile] strawberry-goth.livejournal.com

Soo cute! Oh dear, I really need to start saving some money.
It seems like they designed the pink/black stuff for you. Anyway there's a cupcake shake at BK now. It has whipped cream and sprinkles and tastes just like a cupcake. ^_^

I've just started listening to Emilie and needless to say, her music is amazing!!
:D Happy early anniversary and best wishes with your new job :3

I'm hoping to see Emilie Autumn next year here in the UK, fingers crossed! oo I am also intrugued to know what you wore for your wedding!you should post pictures!

From: [identity profile] mimi-monsterr.livejournal.com

oh and the Lolita Candy line? it was definitely made for you I think ;)

From: [identity profile] genniferholland.livejournal.com

I believe that they are speaking of you here my dear...

[nothing bad, but I've noticed that she is on your friends list.]

Bahahahaha! Oh, that's funny. And very sweet that the poster said Gothic, yes (which is why I don't fault said LJ user, as she's really more Gothic than Lolita).

Yes, I am more Gothic than Lolita. I just like the fact that EGL has made clothes I like easier to find.

From: [identity profile] nekusagi.livejournal.com

Yeah... I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to direct that post at you at all.

*sorry if I'm apologizing a lot, I like your blog and REALLY feel bad I made this first impression on you*

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

No no no! Don't worry, I thought the post was funny! Plus, I know full well that the Lolita Candy line is in NO WAY EGL. You didn't make a bad impression on me, don't fret. :)

From: [identity profile] ouranophobe.livejournal.com

Happy anniversary, my dears!

As a complete aside, did you get my email? I'm really hoping I have the correct address. No rush on a reply, I'm just stressing over whether it got there at all.

Because, y'know, I don't have enough to stress about. ~snrch~

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

I did! And ... replied to it in my head? Yeah, something like that. I'll reply tonight. :)

From: [identity profile] ouranophobe.livejournal.com

Oh, that's totally fine, so long as it got there, this means I have the right email address, and if all else fails, I can just email you my mobile number. :D

I haven't yours programmed, by the by, if you wanted to include that, or your landline, or Peev's number in email, that'd be brilliant!

From: [identity profile] icprncs.livejournal.com

The term "neck collar" is driving me batty.

(And I think the black-on-black fabric looks...unusually cheap, even for them.)

OP of the getoffegl post

Hey, I'm the one who posted that link in getoffegl...

I apologize if that post seemed directed at you. It honestly wasn't, and I do like the line, in a non-Lolita way. I hope there are no hard feelings.

From: [identity profile] rosecitychild13.livejournal.com

I didn't know they had a Sock Dreams in Seattle. Or are said friends down in Portland...? It would be very cool to spot you walking down the street here hahaha.
