[livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre is a queen among women*, for today she provided me with fun conversation, thrift store shopping, and cupcakes. And while at one of the thrift stores, she found a Revenge-era MCR shirt for me. (Yes, I'm wearing it around the house right now, with a long velvet skirt. Isn't that what everyone's "inside clothes" look like?)

The thrift stores also produced a stack of vintage trashy gothic romances (look, any book that includes the line "and a forced marriage in the family crypt!" is one I MUST READ), a black blouse with silver pinstripes (which is the wrong size, but is an exact duplicate of a blouse I have, which means I can use today's find as a source of fabric to add matching ruffles to the previous blouse), a pretty box to store some stuff in, and b&w striped cotton sheets (which will eventually turn into bloomers and maybe a skirt). (And a black blazer to alter and a skully t-shirt, but those aren't quite as exciting as the other stuff.)

Tomorrow I get to experiment with this whole "morning" thing again, as I have to be at the office of my contract agency at 8AM for orientation. This is going to be interesting. Will a full dose of Ambien knock me out at 10PM tonight? Or will I just have wacky hallucinations? Let's find out!

*A queen among women EVEN IF she has left me with an earworm I never thought I'd suffer. But apparently "Womanizer" by Britney Spears is freakishly catchy.

Now I'm dying to know WHICH Revenge-era MCR shirt, because... well, we have rather a lot of examples in this house. Okay, two are hoodies. But there's the red one with the bullets that [livejournal.com profile] eternaleponine was wearing (with plaid flannel pajama pants, she doesn't do skirts) while she was exercising on the Wii Fit (Plus! We made a doggie Mii!) today, and my "from the razor to the rosary" design that I got at the show in October '05, and the kid's got one with the cover design, and... um. yeah. And that's just the Revenge stuff. I'm wearing a Black Parade hoodie right now. Which has become my grubbiest hoodie, actually, because they used a 50/50 blend and it PILLED, almost immediately.

The Revenge cover. I was very excited, because all of my shirts are TBP -era. I keep hoping I'll eventually find one of the really old ones with the vampire fangs, but so far, no such luck.

(I also keep hoping that I'll find a Revenge-era armband, or a pair of the pink & burgundy limited edition Fluevog Babycakes. Me and my crazy dreams.)

Yay! Glad you had such a good day! Hope things go well with the Ambien tonight and your orientation tomorrow!

Waaaaaaaay better when you listen to the Patrick Stump version. Um... Just saying.

"and a forced marriage in the family crypt!"

Please to be telling us the title of this wonderous book?

Pretty, please:)

Dude, I've seen Britney Spears live twice and STILL have a program from the concert I saw in, what, my freshman year of High school? Or was that the summer between 8th and 9th grade? Either way, "innocent" Britney can still provide the entertainment! =)
