Well bother. I just received email about that job I interviewed for a few weeks ago. I didn't get it. I am trying to look at this as meaning there is something far better for me out there, and am mostly succeeding with that. Mostly.

Today is a day of answering a lot of email, packing up some more things from the Closet Culling sale that need to be mailed, schedule-wrangling, and possibly writing. Oh, and calling about a medical bill that should have been covered by my insurance, and I need to become Very Stern with some people about No, You Are Not Going To Send This To Collections, Let Me Explain In Great Detail From My Notes Of What You Said Last Time. Whee.

The weekend was mostly fun. Oooh, new makeup from MAC! Yes, I ended up with three different black-hued lip products, and I will be posting reviews of them soon-ish. Yes, I DO believe that black lipstick, if done well, is both appropriate and flattering on an ElderGoth. So there.

Things are slowly starting to get a little better. I'm hoping you find something fabulous soon! (Then again, I'm also hoping my extension gets approved soon - *sigh*) I'm looking forward to your review - even if I can't do anything about it for now.

Good luck with the medical bills folks as well!

I'm sure there's plenty of seasonal stuff you can work on, too. Bat cookies don't make themselves! -mls

Oooh, the weather is going to lend itself to bat cookie baking very soon, isn't it?

Hey! We should hang out soon. The Stroppy One and myself were just talking about that the other day.

Yes! Hanging out would be good, now that both our schedules seem to have quieted down a bit. I'll bring it up with The Wendy(TM) tonight. -mls

Dark/black lips can look nice (if well done, if it is glopped on, barf!) on the pout of a goth of any gender.

Oooo! Coat! Yaaaay! Can't wait for my purdy wool coat.

Poop on not getting the job . . . I know that heartbreak my dear. *hands you a cupcake*

Oh gosh . . . bills . . . evil evil bills. Good you are taking notes, smart move.

*Your* coat was mailed on ... Thursday, dearheart! So it should be arriving soon-ish. :)

Oh excellent! The weather is getting colder here so good timing. *thumbs up*

I am so thankful you are taking notes on your customer service calls. Almost no one does this and it's impossible to get anything done without those notes. Good on you!

Sorry to hear about the job. I'm sure something good will come along when the time is right.

I'm thinking I can rock MAC black lipstick with a very 18th century pink cheek. We'll see...

I agree about black-hued lipstick. I'm an ElderGoth of nevermindhowmanyyearsold and I LOVE the Urban Decay lipstick in Oil Slick! It's more of a tint than an opague slash of color. Can't wait for your review!

Oooh. MAC.
I got some stuff from there yesterday, actually.
Not kidding.

I do believe that there is something much better waiting out there for you.Sometimes things get or seem worse before they improve. :3

Oooh! Makeup O.O *googles Mac*

I'm following your blog since the spotlight had luckily found you and I do so with taking much delight in your writing.
I never heard about MAC producing goth-ish products unless you'd like to participate in the quite colourful scene of the cybergoth people, so I'm very much looking forward to your review! Well, if these products will be available in Europe is to be questioned...

I am so sorry the job hunt has been so frustrating. Keep at it. Let's hear about those lipsticks!

Actually, Being an eldergoth has nothing to do with being able to wear black lip stick. I was JUST covering this in my own journal yesterday(go figure). My stand on black lip stick is:

"Honestly I was so worried about how the black lip stick would look. Girls with chubby faces don't always pull it off to well but I know a black lip stick secret and that is: Coat it with lip gloss so it does not look chalky. Only girls/boys that have long faces or big lips look good in chalky black lipstick. girls with mildly chubby faces should wear it glossy, girls with REALLY chubby faces should just avoid it all together, no matter how goth they want to look. For them I recommend any shade of red or even some purples depending on the rest of the makeup. My message to the goth community: "Black lipstick is like spandex; It's a privilege, not a right."

- Just had to note.

I have also been really enjoying reading your posts!

What will you do if the job you do get has a strict dress code? Thus, not allowing you to dress in full cupcake goth glory?

I tried black lip stick... My mouth disappeared *Sigh*

I am sure there is something out there for you that is much, much better. After all, you seem like such a fabulous person, and it would be a shame if there was not a fabulous job waiting just for you.

I'll be eagerly awaiting your review on your new MAC makeup! I've always had a very hard time finding good quality black-hued lip products. The ones I've tried usually have no staying power or turn out to be a very unflattering shade of brown instead of black. Also, I am a firm believer that black lipstick looks much better (and more classy, too) on an ElderGoth than it does on a 15-year-old. Why yes, I am guilty of having worn badly applied black lipstick when I was that age *bows head in shame*
