A sure sign I have been without an office job for a while: my body clock has reasserted its natural setting, and I am incapable of falling asleep before 2:30 - 3:00AM, and being woken up at 11:30AM seems perfectly reasonable. The only problem with this is that my darling husband, The Stroppy One, likes daylight, and would be happiest getting up at something like 9:00AM. ::shudders delicately::

But! While I was awake and tootling around the internets at two in the morning, I learned about micro ring loop hair extensions! Human hair extensions that you attach to your head in a process that's kind of like latch-hooking in miniature! And why look, eBay has them in pink! (Clicky-link!) I am going to think about this a bit more (and find out which of my local friends I could sweet-talk into helping me add the extensions to the back of my head), but I think this is the best way for me to add pink to my hair without doing any (more) damage to it.

I have done extensions on myself and for others- too bad I am so far away.

Human hair ones are absolutely the best, and hooray for pink! I think the loop ones will be absolutely possible for you to put in at home with a crafty friend :-)

Oooh. I didn't know those loop ones existed. I've been wanting to have bits of purple in my hair again, but with the many moons of black dye over already dark brown hair makes it difficult to say the least.

I shall bookmark that seller for later. Many thanks!

The cost . . . it's so low! Wow! And you can adjust it? . . . I may have to get some when I have a bit of spending monies.

I have a out of whack sleep schedule . . . and I dislike bright sunlight, it makes me tan all blotchy! Eeewww! (meaning I tan un-evenly) I hope your schedule gets back to "normal" . . . whatever a normal sleep schedule can be.

edit again I'm apparently on crack. These are the crimp ring ones. :P Carry on.

I've had those kind of extensions and loved them most of all. They are *super* easy to take out when you want them out (with pliers), but they don't fall out.

I think I still have supplies for a few, so if you want to try a couple, let me know and I'll find them. The pink hair I have is hand-dyed human hair (baby pink, cupcake pink, and fuschia, IIRC) that I made into extensions from wefts, but it's only 6" long, so it'd work for bangs or front accent. If you decide to do them all over, you can get all the supplies at Sally's.

As far as extensions go, those are the only ones I'll do in the future, especially since I can do them myself. :D

Oooh, Sally's carries the pliers and the needle/hook thing? Rock on. I sense a(nother) trip to Sally's in my future.

Yea hair extensions! My normal schedule is up at 4am and in bed by 10pm at the latest. I love the early morning hours around sunrise. It's relatively quiet then. Especially on Sundays.

Awesome! Please show us if you do it. Too bad there's only hot pink... I really want some pink in my hair too, but I like antique pink or baby pink better.

i'm certified in paris hilton's extensions (www.dreamcatchers.com) and i can tell you that if you are not absolutely 1000000000% careful, you WILL wind up with hair loss. try and look up as many videos as you can on how to put those in, or have whomever's putting them in look it up. with any kind of extension, it's SO easy to wind up with hair loss and i don't want that happening to people! :(

oh, and another thing... that probably ISN'T 100% human hair. for that cheap? i'm almost sure it's a mix of human, synthetic and yak. real human hair costs a LOT more than what those extensions are going for... :(

Definitely go with extensions. I think it will look better. Never really cared for that whole roots one color and the ends another. This will look much better especially whilst on the hunt for a job :D

I personally like the black hair. I think it goes better with the black clothes you tend to wear.

Oh crap, I can't get to sleep before 1am even with sleeping pills, and I'm not really wide awake till around 11am.

Just remember to also get yourself a loop hairbrush, otherwise your usual hairbrush will rip them out of your hair... I speak with the gravity of experience... ouch! :)

Ugh! I usually get up around 1400HRS and then go to bed at about 0600HRS, Unless I'm forced to interact with day walkers...

I had had a full head of special effects cupcake pink for the last 6 months until a few days ago. I just got a promotion into managment with MAC cosmetics, and although I have been with them for 4 years and they are cool with multiclored hair, to be taken seriously in managment I wanted to tone it down, so I just let my coveted pink hair go *pout*. The whole time I was pink, this community [livejournal.com profile] pinkhair was so great for ideas, inspiration and help. Just thought I'd share in case you didnt know it existed. Good luck!
