Thing the First: Of Reader Mail Concerning Mourning, the Military, and Teachers has been posted to Gothic Charm School.

(Thank you to my beta readers and [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, Queen of Proofreaders!)

Thing the Second: I'm going to be on Internet radio! The Eclectic Word airs Friday, Sept. 7th (that would be THIS Friday), at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST. Myself and the brilliant and fascinating Allyson Beatrice will be interviewed by the charming and witty Victor Infante. It's going to be all sorts of fun, so you really should come listen to us.

In regards to the teacher issue, you do in fact know or know of two, one being the ex-teacher, myself, and the other being a sometime DJ at the club, [livejournal.com profile] kaosqueen. During my teaching years, I stuck mostly to vintage dresses or grey or blue wool slacks with the jewel-toned blouses you'd mentioned.

Teaching in Louisiana, I was required to take out all my visible piercings except for the first in each lobe, but nothing was ever said about my wardrobe.

Teaching here in Washington, I was asked politely but firmly by our school principle to refrain from wearing my black leather trench coat, and to keep my hair down over my ears as much as possible, to hide all the hoops, but nothing was ever said about my nose ring, and in fact, I wasn't the only one to have one.
