I think my interview(s)* today went really well! At the start of the day the very nice HR guy let me know that I should hear about their decision by next week; this means that in theory I won't spend the next few days obsessively hitting "Get Mail" to see if there's any news. In theory, because I know what I get like.

Interview CorpGoth Shallow Fashion Details!
- Black pumps that were custom-made for me years ago.
- Black tights.
- Black knee-length skirt (the Retroscope Fashions "dolly bustle" skirt) w/ petticoat.
- Pink menswear shirt with black silk ruffles down the front (from Lip Service).
- Black vintage Dior double-breasted blazer.
- My hair down, no hat.

Plus the usual rings, my glasses, and makeup including Aromaleigh powder, eyeshadow in Pink Portent (pale shimmery pink-beige) and Gothic (yes, seriously, because it's the best blackened burgundy I've found, and if applied lightly, is a fantastic accent/liner color) black liquid liner and mascara, and dark wine lipstick.

I am TIRED now. Besides being focused and "on" for the interview, today involved getting up, oh, four hours earlier than I have been used to, lately. The Stroppy One took me out for a (gluten-free) cupcake, and I am going to spend the rest of the evening watching silly vampire movies and PLAYING WITH MY DOLLS.

Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes!

*I interviewed with six different people. Which, in terms of interviews for full-time gigs at tech companies, is short. I've been through 10 - 12 hour interviews.

The signing on Saturday at Comics Dungeon was very low-key, probably in part due to the torrential rain that happened that day. But it was still a lot of fun, and I got to meet some nifty people.

The Mourning Market on Sunday was amazing. So many vendors I had never heard of before! So many pretty things I wanted to buy! Oh dear oh dear. I finally gave into temptation and purchased a hat I had been coveting from Noxenlux (clicky-link!), because really, a mini tricorn in b&w skull fabric will got with a LOT of my wardrobe. No, I am not being sarcastic.

There is talk of turning the Mourning Market into a quarterly event, and I very much hope that happens. It was lovely to browse the tables and catch up with people.

Tomorrow is turning into Crazy Media Day for me. I just got scheduled for an interview with a newspaper that is doing a "30 Years of Goth" article. Tomorrow evening, I'm going to hang out with the Seattle Geekly folks to record part of a Goth-themed podcast they're putting together. And then, I'm staying up all night, because I am doing a radio interview with The Menage on 1150 KKNW. A MORNING interview. I need to be at the studio at 6:20 IN THE MORNING.. Why yes, my sleep schedule has slid back to nocturnal, which is why I'm just going to stay up all night and go to the interview.

(They also will be a live webcast during this. I will be sure to get the URL, just in case any of you folks want to watch the hijinks.)

I am taking it as a Very Good Sign that the first thing I saw when I checked my email after getting up (at a very late time, but hey, I'm kind of nocturnal) was an email from my recruiter letting me know about a job opening. My resume has now been submitted; everyone think "You want to interview and hire Jilli!" really really hard, okay? Because gainful employment would make me really happy.

Today involves taking more photos of things for the Closet Culling Sale. Which, if all goes well, will happen NEXT WEEK. I will try and give everyone a day's advance warning, so the Giant Post Of Ruffles doesn't slip past anyone who is interested.

Eeeeee! Guess what? There's a feature on Gothic Charm School in the next issue of Gothic Beauty Magazine! Take a look at the cover! (clicky-link) I am very excited about this. Some day, some wonderful day, [livejournal.com profile] acid_poptart and myself will be able to meet up and run amok like we are clearly destined to do.

Tomorrow night I am going out to a PAX-related event that is going to be silly fun AND probably fill me with nostalgia: White Wolf Games is throwing a gothy club night at a nostalgia-laden venue in Seattle, and a bunch of us olde-tyme Cam folks are attending. I need to figure out what I'm going to wear!

(A slightly bashful confession: there are times when I really do miss LARPing. But oh, the annoying real-life drama and the swarms of clueless people that come along with it. I don't miss those.)
I found the flickr account for Ariel, the very nice lady who interviewed & photographed me. This is a clicky-link to the photo she took of the two of us.
Thing the First: Of Reader Mail Concerning Mourning, the Military, and Teachers has been posted to Gothic Charm School.

(Thank you to my beta readers and [livejournal.com profile] staxxy, Queen of Proofreaders!)

Thing the Second: I'm going to be on Internet radio! The Eclectic Word airs Friday, Sept. 7th (that would be THIS Friday), at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST. Myself and the brilliant and fascinating Allyson Beatrice will be interviewed by the charming and witty Victor Infante. It's going to be all sorts of fun, so you really should come listen to us.

The interview I did with the Toronto Sun is up! (yesyes, that's a clicky link)

(Do any of you have any suggestions for how I can get my hands on a hard copy? Apparently the print version used a photo of me and everything, and I'd like to have it for squee-ing archival purposes.0

Interview! Ohmygosh!
