Dear Brain,

Last night's dream wherein I was stuck at a vampire LARP with a bunch of my ex-boyfriends? Let's not repeat that EVER AGAIN, thanks. Tho' I do find it grimly amusing that in the dream, when I rounded a corner and saw someone I no longer associate with, my reaction was to say "REALLY?", then stomp off to find [livejournal.com profile] skarrin and demand that we start looking at our stats and figuring out what we needed to do to KILL EVERYONE. (Which, to be honest, was kind of our standard reaction to a lot of shenanagins that happened during our LARPing days.)

That is the sound of the Wayback Machine in a tizzy. White Wolf Games opened pre-orders for the 20th Anniversary edition of Vampire: the Masquerade. (clicky-link!)

I won't even try to fib here: yeah, I wanted it. Wanted, past-tense, because the amusement I would get from it is not worth the $99 price tag. But maybe someone I know will get a copy, and I'll be able to at least flip through it and giggle.

I don't even have a copy of the original book anymore; it vanished at least 15 years ago with a roommate. I do want to eventually get a copy of that original book, but the Stroppy One keeps assuring me that the next time we go visit his family, I can bring *his* original copy home for nostalgia's sake.

Somewhere, in a drawer or a box downstairs, I have my original membership card to the Camarilla. IIRC, member # 40 or 42. Yes, I was that silly. And hey, I sometimes miss vampire LARPing. But I don't miss the out-of-game drama and bureaucracy, and I certainly don't have time for such a hobby any more. (Besides, if I was going to give in and do that sort of thing, I'd want a troupe game with a Victorian-Age Vampire setting, dammit.)
