So there I was yesterday, happily (still) listening to Within Temptation, when I swear I could hear my brain produce the screech of a needle across a record, and then my brain demanded "Womanizer". Yes, as in the Britany Spears song. Look, I don't understand it either. I mean, in my head there's some context and back story as to why I personally find the song hilarious, but for the most part? I blame [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre and SA. (I blame them for most of the ridiculous poppy music I end up with on my iPod, actually.)

Speaking of ridiculous poppy music, yes, I took advantage of Amazon's free mp3 credits and sale and purchased Adam Lambert's album, because I want to see that fabulous sparkly gay boy do well in the charts. Because honestly? I don't know how often I'd actually listen to the entire album. But my GOD, he's pretty. And straight out of Velvet Goldmine, bless. (I don't need to explain my fondness for eyeliner-bedecked boys who are heavy on the stage theatrics and spectacle, do I? Okay, just checking.)

(However, after I'm done listening to Glambert's album, I think I'm going to go back to Within Temptation. Or Sisters of Mercy. Or go on a MCR bender, I don't know.)

Wow, I want to be done editing this white paper I'm working on. It's ... not fun, that's for certain.

Today's outfit. I made the stripey skirt. The hat is from GypsyWitch designs (clicky-link!) (and oh! I want to eventually get another one in black and pink stripes!), and the necklace (that I should try to get a better photo of) is a music box pendant that is decorated with a large skull. And plays ever-so-slightly off-kilter, which I think is darling. (The necklace is from Bella Lili on Etsy, and yes, that was a clicky-link.)

And behind this cut-tag, my latest embroidered bloomers project )

Apparently my brain has decided that "Guitar Hero" by Amanda Fuckin' Palmer is THE song to listen to right now. Well, that or "Leeds United".

I have a lot of different stuff I kind of want to talk about, but no coherent posts have managed to form themselves. And I'm in need of coherent, because I need to write another GCS column in the next few weeks.

::pokes at email, frowns at lack of the replies I'm waiting on::

Oh, and in another random tangent: you would think that an eye shadow called "Dear Cupcake"from the MAC "SugarSweet" collection would be the perfect cupcake-y pink, right? But no, it's a coral pink-y gold. Bleah. Dear MAC, cupcake pink is a light, cool-toned pink, somewhere between ballet pink and bubblegum pink. Get it right.
Over the weekend, we hung out with [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre and family. Princess Lilybean Squeakaboo Tickybox had recently been introduced to the videos for "Kenya" and "Magical Trevor", and instantly became addicted. Princess Tickybox's new thing to do with grown-ups is to lead us to the computer, point and the monitor, and exclaim "Lions! Grrrrarrrh!" until you load up the "Kenya" animation. She will watch it for many repetitions. Until, that is, she points at the monitor and exlaims "Cows!", at which point you're supposed to find the animation for "Magical Trevor". Rinse and repeat for what seems like forever.

Neither of those (admittedly catchy) songs are what is stuck in my head. No, in an effort to distract Princess Tickybox, [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre played her this video (clicky link!)

I am going to be humming "Furry Happy Monsters" for the rest of my life. The rest of my life, I tell you!

(I don't suppose anyone has an MP3 of it they can send me? Anyone? Naaaah, didn't think so.)
