Today was beautiful and sunny. So what did I do for most of the day? Stay inside and reorganize book cases. But now my vampire books are easier to get to, which makes sense considering they're the genre I re-read most often.

Four of the five shelves. I still haven't reorganized the very top (not pictured) shelf, but when I do, that's probably where all the Vampire: the Masquerade books and art books will live. And I discovered I have more "real" vampire books (non-fiction about vampire archetypes, folklore, and the vampire subculture) than I realized.

I swear I don't read every vampire book I come across, really. There are whole swathes of them that are too annoying and dumb, even for me. (But I do have the tie-in novel for The Lost Boys.)
Because I seem to have a knack for stumbling upon this sort of thing too late, this is a completed auction for the sort of ankh pendant I've been trying to find for ages.

See?! It's not the Alchemy Gothic "ankh of the dead" that you can find everywhere. Why can't I find this version? Whyyyyy?!

::stamps tiny feet::

I have an ankh very similar to this, made long ago by Jesse Skellington. But alas, the sheath for mine has long since vanished, and Jesse doesn't seem to be responding to attempts to contact him.

Yes, I know it's a ridiculous cliché. But I wants one. So! Have any of you lovely folks seen this sort of ankh w/ a sheath available anywhere, one that isn't the ubiquitous Alchemy Gothic version? (Which, yes, I do own, because my ankh collection is just that silly. But oh, if I could find one of the silver bladed ankhs w/ sheath! I would be a happy ElderGoth indeed.)
(No, I am not participating in the LJ "strike". I don't think that boycotting LJ for one day is going to do anything about any of the policy or communication issues they have.)

Anyway, shiny things! It is well-known that when it comes to jewelry, I fully embrace my gothy cliché-ness. Skulls? Yay! Bats? Even better! Skulls or bats with hearts or ankhs? Ohmygoodnessyesplease.

So! Under the cut-tag, photos and links to the current crop of over-the-top gothy-goth jewelry I'm coveting. Why? Well, at least this way I'll have all the links in one place? I don't know, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So! That concludes our little tour of wildly clichéd gothy-goth pendants that I am currently coveting. And what sort of shiny things are you coveting at the moment, hmmm?
