This ... this was a year. It was marked by deaths -- people I knew, and people I admired. Friends of mine went through massive upheavals. My health continued to be all over the damn map.

But there were good things!

- The dayjob remained awesome. Super-busy, but awesome!
- My chosen family really pulled together for each other!
- I wrote a book! With Thea!
- I finished draft 2 of the fiction project!
- My agent liked draft 2! And gave me lots of detailed feedback!
- There was a whole bunch of travel, and TWO visits to Disneyland!
- I got back into more witchy things!

So, 2016:

- Continue to kick ass in the dayjob!
- WRITE DRAFT 3. Faster than draft 2, even!
- MORE WRITING IN GENERAL.
- More travel!
- More witchcraft!
- More time with the people I love!
- Be better at taking care of my health. Slightly healthier eating habits, more moving around.

- Write. WRITE WRITE WRITE.

- Keep reminding myself that it's not my job to fix everyone. Helping is good, taking on everyone else's load is not. Or, to put it another way, I am not Responsible from the Ozark Trilogy by Suzette Haden Elgin - those are wonderful books, but maybe imprinting on them as hard as I did as a wee girl was not the best idea in the world.

- More witchy stuff, including actually studying the tarot, not just having a vague knowledge of the general meanings of the cards.

- To make my exterior better match my interior, which means tattoos, (possibly) talon nails, paying someone to do the multiple steps of hair coloring, and some new fang caps.

- And finally, EMBRACE MY CLICHED NATURE EVEN MORE. See the point directly above this one. ::grins::

2014 was a year of extremes, good and bad.

- Job. I spent the first half of the year unemployed and anxious, and then BOOM! A former manager contacted me out of the blue and offered me a really good job. I work from home, my co-workers think I'm awesome, and I am regularly told I'm doing a great job.

- Travel, whoo, travel! I was a guest at a first year con in Kansas, and had a lovely time. I went to VMB and Vespertine down in PDX. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of some friends, I was able to attend Bats Day at Disneyland! (OMG DISNEYLAND.) But I had to cancel on a con at the last minute because of a health emergency with Dad, and the RealHusband spent a month in the UK, helping his mum clear through the family home.

- Writing. I'm still updating Gothic Charm School, the book is still in print after FIVE YEARS, and I finally earned out my advance! My agent gave me fantastic feedback on the fiction project ... and I need to sit down and finish the second draft. While taking notes on a completely different fiction project that is lurking around my brain.

- Health. Meh. I have good days, I have bad days. That's really all I can say.

- Fannish obsessions. HELLO PENNY DREADFUL, YOU ARE THE SHOW OF MY HEART. Plus Hannibal, but Penny Dreadful is pretty much everything I ever wanted in a show.

- Family (blood and chosen). Dad is healthy, and has a wonderful ladylove. My assorted godchildren are smart, charming, and crazy. My friends and I have been taking turns propping each other up during various stressful moments, which is as it should be.

May 2015 be much kinder and gentler with us all.
