• That my pretty awesome tech job is a work from home deal.

  • Steady paychecks.

  • A women-only spa RIGHT BY MY HOUSE.

The combination of these things means that when the ongoing medical issues I have flare up and make me want to curl up under a heated blanket, possibly with a bottle of laudanum, I can trundle off to the spa instead. Spending a few hours basking in saunas and soaking in heated pools do WONDERS for my issues.

I won't lie: there are days when it seems like springing for a membership and going there every night seems like a really good idea.

Which spa is this?

If it keeps you from missing work and potentially keeps you out of the doctor's office, wouldn't it be worth it? I mean, I know spa/yoga/other memberships are pricey, but the payoff in preventive self care seems gigantic!

Oh good grief. That anonymous comment was me. I just wasn't logged in.

The spa in lynnwood? Or is there one EVEN CLOSER I just don't know about? Because that would rock.

I can't help but wonder if this would do my Aspiring Ex any good.

Ladywell's, eh? All right, I'm going to have to investigate this.

*looks up membership rates, winces* If it helps enough to make a noticeable difference in your health issues, wouldn't it be worth it? I say, not being privy to your finances. But I'm also looking at that six visits just to the spa is $180 and it seems that would add up fairly fast.

However, the full price for a year is definitely ouchy. If you're worried that you might not use it enough to justify the purchase, I note that a one month membership is actually less than the six visit card punch, and maybe if you did a one month membership, you could use that to try out how often you would use their services when you had regular access to them?

I say this because I personally have issues with predicting how much I will use a service, like, for example, the pool at the gym. Even though I felt amazing in the pool, I hurt like fuck getting out as soon as I was no longer in sweet buoyant water and all the weight came back like WHOOSH. As I had to drive 15 minutes to get there... yeah, I didn't use it. We're considering signing up for the Evergreen family plan since we live basically on the campus (10 minutes walk from the campus center, if that) but my kinda-sorta-ex-we're-still-romantically-involved-but-english-sucks-for-this PERSONFRIENDLOVERTHING is looking at an apt complex with a pool. If they end up in that one, which is five minutes away by car, I have informed them I will be stealing their pool access and collapsing in their bed afterwards. >_>

...er, that turned out longer than I meant it to be. Sorry, sorta manic. Okay, definitely manic. Whee.
