A good samaritan found this cat today in a gutter by Clark Park, half dead. He is now at the Cat Doctor with a body temperature of 90 (normal is 102) and blood PCV of 8. The Cat Doctor housecat, Diamond, is currently donating blood to save his life. During the exam, the vet found that this cat has a microchip. When called, his "owners" reported that he was acting sick, so they put him outside. If this makes you as angry as it makes us, please channel your anger in one of two ways: visit our website at www.citykitties.org and make a donation to help us pay for his care, or share this post and encourage others to do so.

He's doing better now and has plenty of donations for his recovery. They are now requesting further donations be made to the Humane officers fund - link here: http://citykitties.org/2011/11/clark-kent-story-update/ -- who, among other things, pursue legal action in cases like these.

How awful! Is it so hard to get some emergency vet care? Is it hard to comfort and look after a sick kitten? Some people deserve a special place in hell for treating cats like that. Such a beautiful little kitten too- I've been looking for a special ginger kitten to love, hopefully someone takes this little fellow home and gives him lots of love and care, which is what he deserves.

Yes, it is often that hard BUT that doesn't excuse tossing the cat outside like a piece of trash.
