Ivory or cream-colored outfits. I keep finding myself idly browsing eBay, looking for ivory military jackets.
I know part of it is the ivory or white for mourning idea. I also know that part of it is my long-standing fascination with Patricia Morrison from the "Dominion" music video.
So. Anyone seen any really striking, semi-Victorian jackets or blazers in ivory or white and want to give me clicky-links? I suspect that after the Vampire Ball this weekend, I am going to be doing a lot of browsing of thrift stores, searching for garments to customize.

Here's my most recent ivory escapade (not a formal shot as we decided not to do photos that day) ~ made with vintage laces from my sweet neighbor that passed away:

Hmmm. Keep hanging onto that fabric. Once I am out of debt to the house, We Will Talk.
That's a lovely photo, and a lovely gown.

I've been dealing with [ cue euphemism ] 'transitions' more frequently than desired, as of late--though, to interrupt myself a second time? on the tip of homos & homonyms, my reference has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with the recurring motifs of death and mortality in Victorian Literature & Poesy.
Although its meaning is manifold, an excerpt from Matthew Arnold's "Stanzas from the Grand Chartreuse" comes to mind:
"Wandering between two worlds, one dead,
The other powerless to be born,
With nowhere yet to rest my head,
Like these, on earth I wait forlorn."
To establish a sense of closure insofar as the topic of Kambiel is concerned: no need for me to launch into bumbling disclaimers about "Oh, I mean: it's not like I actually know her, 'know' her..." Point is: our paths have had many a convergence over the course of the last 15 (if not longer, even? )--the most recent being in Mick Mercer's Hex Files: The Resurrection (http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/hex-files-resurrection/13635078), unless I'm mistaken. Many a full-page image in that 664 pg veritable scrapbook chronicling The Apex of The 'Zine Scene Days Among Dark-Hearts, including my all-time favorite shot (ditto, design) circa Kambriel's upstart a lá 'Atrocities': cathedral steps, white gown, and a

train that must have been 20-25 feet long, minimum. This dates back to Jennifer Chen's beauteous Spectre magazine, as well as my final stretch as an 'Ozark Outcast' in Theirkansas (they can have it!), & I remember seeing it & being filled with an intense surge of inspiration, of unfettered beauty and the expression thereof, of an excitement for the future, boundless possibilities, a flash of daydreams of nights rife with decadent glamour...
The hackneyed phrase about a picture "being worth a thousand [clichés]"?
A thousand poems, that one.
So!

Soooo, "Yes-I'm-Alluding-To-The-Fact-That-More-Than-Likely-I'll-"BRB"-&-You-Shall-See-Why Washingtonian friend."? I am agog for more details.

That ivory Dracula's Bride Gown photo was one of the very first we ever did for Atrocities ~ I believe it was our second photo shoot ever, and that particular image was the first taken that evening ~ all the pieces just fell into place somehow, at that little chapel hidden away, high up in the mountains.
If you'd like to send me your mailing address sometime, I may just have a treat for you...
