(But still no photos. I'll try and take some tonight, but I plan to be busy writing and doing a sewing project.)

Today, the ever-delightful [livejournal.com profile] celadon_noise (hubby of [livejournal.com profile] maiaarts, and the musical genius behind the "Dark Decorum", the music that is used in the Gothic Charm School videos) took me thrift shopping. He goes thrifting like I do: quickly. Sure, I can bimble around a thrift store and take ages, but my preferred method is a brisk pace, and seeing what jumps out at me.

(Yes, that's how I found the Fluevogs yesterday.)

Anyhoodle, we hit ::stops to count:: four thrift stores; three Goodwills, one Value Village.

- A vintage panel of ivory lace.
- About 5 yards of gorgeous ivory satin/sheer striped fabric.
- 4 yards of black stripe-textured velveteen.
- Another hardback of Dracula. (Whoo! Vampiric paper roses are on the project list, ohyes.)
- Drood by Dan Simmons (Which I was curious about, but not curious enough to buy new.)
- Drawing Down The Moon by Elizabeth Hand. (I've been wanting to re-read it, and my previous copy has vanished.)
- Sucks to Be Me: The All-True Confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire (maybe) by Kimberly Pauley. (What? It's vampire YA, and it looks cute.)
- A black waistcoat that fits me perfectly. (Tho' I may change the buttons to the filigree silver ones I found yesterday.)
- A knee-length black velvet paneled skirt with black satin piping. (Not quite full enough for petticoats, so I'm deciding if I want to alter it, or if it just needs to go on the Closet Culling Sale rack.)
- 8-eye black Doc Martens, in pristine condition, in my size. (Those babies are getting some pink ribbon laces tonight.)

Aaaaaand, I may have figured out the solution to my need an ivory top hat dilemma! I will take one of my black top hats that is the right shape, and cover it with ivory lace. (As in, cut out and fit pieces, then tack them down with matching thread. Fiddly, yes, but something I can probably do in an evening while watching silly movies.)
