Otherwise known as "what happens when Jilli sees things on tumblr, then realizes she has the supplies upstairs in the storage room":

(Yes, I had a spare pair of black flats AND an assortment of spikes. What?)

(Yes, I wore them to the office today. No writer is going to sass ME, I tell you what. Now if only the threat of spiky shoes would get the network to obey me.)

In other news, guess who just stapled the arm seam of her vintage blouse after it ripped? I'm just telling myself I'm oh-so-deathrock. Or something.

In other other news, Dear LJ front page, having one of your spotlight communities be one about tarantulas? With its creepy-crawly user icon? NOT OKAY, THANKS.

All I can think of when I see spiked shoes is, "I would constantly snag them in my tights and ruin everything."

That's nice work, however. :)

Those are made of awesome. ^_^ Textured or patterned tights might make them look even better at work. DIY torn tights are probably an away from work look, but also awesome.

Ooh, well done. Not the tarantula part, but the rest of it.

Why, at http://www.studsandspikes.com/ ! (I need to do another order to them, as I used up all of my spare spikes on the shoes.)

Love the DIY spike shoes. How difficult is it to apply the spikes? Do you need any special tools?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

These spikes (and most spikes) are screw-back, so you need to punch a hole in whatever you're applying them to in order to poke the screw through. I used one of those Crop-a-Dile scrapbooking tools; the punch part made perfect holes in the leather.

To apply studs, you push the pointy tack ends through the material, and then bend them in/flat with a pair of needle-nosed pliers.

Oh, awesome! I may just have to steal that....

Squee! What lovely shoes! Clappy hands of joy!

(Creepy-crawley is NOT cool, though)

By golly, those would come in handy when I'm having one of my twice-weekly "Kick a ______________ in the Jimmies" day here at work.

In fact, I hereby declare "Kick an LJ Staffer in the Jimmies" day! Let's get busy!

I *love* those. Sadly, if I had them, I'd end up gouging myself in the ass because I tend to sit on my feet on the sofa. Or nerf one of the cats out of the way and impale the poor beast.

I haven't commented, but been following you over at Cleo's (and now here), and think you are teh awesome.

First let me say I have been sending healing thoughts to you and your family and hope your mother gets well soon.

Second, thank you for the squick that are spiders. People seem to think it's strange when a Goth does not like them, as if it's a requisite. I think we all need a Goths Who Do Not Like Spiders Anonymous 'R Us club or something.

Also: Shoooooooooooooes!!! ♥

Oh how I love the shoes...perfect for those days when you need to *ahem* kick some butt.

From: [identity profile] ladymoira.livejournal.com

Now you have choices: kick them with the pointy toes or with the pointy tops of your feet! I like choices.

I love the shoes. You should market them. I'd buy a pair. Or five.

From: [identity profile] suxdonut.livejournal.com

those are SO. BAD. ASS.

wowww. i wonder how much money you could make on selling spiked shoes ebay for a lot more, now that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Cool! I saw your tumblr post and thought something like this would be a much more practical version. They look great!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm totally stealing this idea... :)

From: [identity profile] satellite6.livejournal.com

I too have done the clothing stapling when something split at work. I figure, hey, whatever gets me to 5pm. ;)
But- those shoes! Oh my goodness, those shoes really came out great. I love that they actually look... dangerous.
