Look at this Alexander Henry "Ghastlies" fabric! (clicky-link to Etsy!) Ooooh, wouldn't it look darling as the border on a fluffy skirt? Help me decide, LJ Hivemind!
In my view, the print is so intricate that it would look great in a wide swath or panel; as a ruffle it might be hard to see the details. But I'm of the school of yes on this matter; get you some of that fabric!
I don't know that it goes with what I have seen as your aesthetic, but then again we don't see each other much. But maybe stretch some over a wooden thing (like canvas is stretched over like a square of wood) and hang it? It is pretty fabric, so I think it would make a good pillow or hanging thing like I just tried to describe, I just can't see it as a skirt border. But I am also wrong sometimes. :)
Edited because OH LOOK, TAPE MEASURE. The print looks like it might be too big for anything other than a huge ruffle--you don't want disembodied heads and feet and skirts to best show it off, I think. I agree that a center panel or full skirt would be best.
I like this print very much but if you put it as the border of a skirt, do you think that it will be big enough to see the details? I don't know because I don't clearly see the final result but I think it would be a pity if you don't see all the details at the final :).
you need that fabric! but I agree with other commenters, I think a detail a bit bigger than a ruffle would be best :) can't wait to see the final result!
I love the fabric and I totally support you getting some (or lots) of it, but I wonder if just a ruffle of it on the bottom of a skirt would be a waste, since it looks like a fairly large design best displayed on a larger area of material (like the panels of a skirt or a bolero or something).
