- I have discovered the Lost Kingdom of Safety Pins!

- Oh wow, there's the far wall! Haven't seen that in ages.

- Do dried rose petals just spontaneously manifest in here? I'm starting to think so.

- Same thing with boxes of vintage lace, 'cos I don't remember buying a lot of these.

- I wonder what will happen if I pull on this random piece of ribbon? ::crash:: Oh, boxes will fall over because the ribbon is tangled around them. All righty, then.

I think next weekend will be the War On Clutter, The Sequel: Organizing! And I think I'm going to need to start checking out thrift stores for chests of drawers and such, to help KEEP things organized this time.

I'd be willing to go on a thrift store run with you - I'm ever on the lookout for old watches of any size that are not digital - and, yeah, having a place to store things did wonders for my crafting/beading storage issue. :)

" Do dried rose petals just spontaneously manifest in here? I'm starting to think so."

It explains why I have been dumping out petals and recycling bottles for days. Gave up and decided some lucky soul at the moving sale will get antique mason jars filled with rose petals!

Sounds like the same world I'm living in now, only mine is trying to declutter and clean the old place, while simultaneously planning to make the new place better organized from the get-go.

I discovered the Lost Kingdom of Binder Clips last night in one of the boxes under the stairs.

Take pictures of the land of the Safety Pins! They're an elusive bunch, but very resourceful.

If you have an abundance of clean cardboard boxes that these things have been living in (and a bunch of extra time on your hands in the nearish future), you could even make some cool drawers or whatever to hold all your stuff.

(I realize that not many people have the time or inclination to make furniture stuff out of cardboard but it gives you the freedom to customize it the way you want and it helps to get rid of boxes if you have them. That and it means being able to build some great Tim Burton-y pieces for nothing.)

Ooh. Any instructions to make this easier than trying to work it out myself?

This link (http://www.instructables.com/pages/search/search.jsp?cx=partner-pub-1783560022203827%3Anpr2q7v5m6t&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Cardboard+furniture) has a list of different projects that you can make out of cardboard. Not gonna lie, it can be a little tricky so if you do this, start smaller but it's definitely not that hard. Also, if you do want to get rolling on this kind of stuff, it's kinda more fun to do it with a friend because the work can get a little tedious. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to do. :)

This was hilarious.

And your icon is too cute!

if you ever find that the vintage lace is threatening to eat you out of house and home, I can help - not that there is such a thing as too much lace, of course

Beware of falling in to a cycle of going out to buy chests and buying just a few more interesting fabrics, which would require buying more storage and so on.

Hi hun. I am in the [livejournal.com profile] lippy_addicts community with you and I just saw that [livejournal.com profile] natas_amsg is selling a Townie Terrie bustier/vest in the black and grey colorway in an XL and I thought of you!

http://community.livejournal.com/lippy_addicts/7949135.html

Not sure if that's exactly the one that you wanted, but I saw the words "Townie Terrie" and you immediately jumped to mind!

From: [identity profile] mechanicaltears.livejournal.com

Well, shoot, [livejournal.com profile] natas_amsg just replied to the comment that I left about you wanting it and let me know that the XL apparently *isn't* for sale, and that she listed it by mistake. :-( She does still have one in a size large in the black and white colorway that's for sale though.

Sorry about that!

Oh, thank you for thinking of me! I managed to get a Townie Terri bustier in the black/grey colorway a month or so ago. Now I just need the b&w in XL or XXL.

But thank you for giving me the heads-up! I really appreciate it. :)

Oh, I didn't realize that you had finally gotten one! Yay! :-)

Have you never watched cartoons? That's their main message: Don't pull on the random [foo] or bad things will fall, possibly on you!

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Y'know, considering everyone I know claims I AM a cartoon character, you would think I would have remembered that important lesson.

Today on Tiny Toon Adventures: avoid having boxes fall on you!

Nice thing about Spring Cleaning, gives you a reason to get new stuff (the company's kind of young, so you may not have heard of them yet).

Oh goodness! Those are some very pretty things! The "A Zombie Is Forever" pin is especially cute.
