(EDITED TO ADD: for whatever reason, LJ times-stamped this really strangely. So I'm making it show up now.)

This morning involved exciting things like not being able to wake up AT ALL and sleeping for an extra half hour, tripping over cats, and sticking the mascara brush in my eye. Oh, and brewing a pot of tea, then remembering 15 minutes later that the cup of tea is sitting RIGHT THERE ON THE DESK, and maybe I should drink it and see if that helps with the lack of awake? Yeah, one of Those Sorts of mornings.

But! Today's outfit includes my glow-in-the-dark Skelly Docs, my new Medal for Heroic Tea Service (clicky-link!) (Mine, of course, is pink & black, not pink & grey.), and a jabot I made last night from a length of vintage crocheted lace. So those things make me happy.

Hey, I haven't wittered on about lipstick in a while, have I?

Yes, you read that right. Lip Tar. It's from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (clicky-link!), and it's pretty amazing. It's a heavily (HEAVILY) pigmented gloss that dries down to a satin finish.

The Bad:

You absolutely have to use a clear lipliner with this stuff, otherwise it will bleed and feather like crazy. You also absolutely must apply it with a lip brush, unless you are really devoted to the Robert Smith smeared lipstick look.

The Good:
Incredibly long wearing. And when it dries, it doesn't feel like a layer of acrylic paint is covering your lips.

Also, Lip Tar is designed for custom-mixing your own colors. Why yes, I am working on the exactly correct proportions to create my perfect blackened pomegranate-wine lipstick, thankyouverymuch.

I've been playing around with it for almost two weeks now, and I really like it. Fiddling with a lip brush is sometimes a bother, but the trade-off is my One True Lipstick Color. (Which is especially important since all other versions of my One True Lipstick Color were only available as limited editions. Curse you, MAC and Kat Von D!)
