I am a gothy princess. I will not even try to deny this. But there is something SO SATISFYING and FUN about the process of creating a Neo-Victorian zombie outfit. It always makes me happy.

Note to Self: You will need to find a new white blouse for vampire dress-up. That blouse is now very much the blouse for zombie dress-up. Yes, there is a difference.

If you ever need theatrical cosmetic dirt, grime, soot, ash, etc. let me know. I have TONS. Also tons of various stage bloods (seriously, I have like a litre of one of my favorite formulations).

Oh, I will! Because it seems I always need those sorts of things.

What's your favorite formulation of stage blood? I've always used minty Ben Nye, or mixed up my own.

It depends on what I'm doing with it, and if it's for consuming or for costuming. For costuming it's Reel FX Reel Blood, hands down.

Where were you when we were doing Titus Andronicus last fall?

The blood mix we ended up using kept coming back (we would scrub, wait 30 seconds and it would slowly reappear.) Seriously zombie blood.

And for a production that used approximately 6 gallons...

Ah well.

Wait... does this mean you moved a litre of blood across the country or is this something you just whipped up for fun?

Of course I realized AFTER I moved that I still had something of Savini's at my parents house which my mother and I had borrowed. Parents are awesome when they'll run errands like returning creepy things for you to creepy people.

hee. I love that you have a 'zombie dress up blouse' and a 'vampire dress up blouse'.

The zombie blouse has ichor stains, as well as the blood. Completely different looks. :)

I love the look of corn syrup blood on cloth.

It dries nice and hard too, and always looks fresh. I have my white bloodstained communion dress from Halloween (which received the same treatment) hanging in my closet and the stains still look brand new.

Oh wow. That outfit is adorable! I think it looks really cute all zombied out!

Clappy Hands! This turned out so wonderfully!

That is SO cool looking, but I would have never been able to do that to that jacket!

heh, I have a few "blood" covered items of clothing, including a mask made to my latest pattern revision. Hallowee'n weekend was a lot of bloody (heh) fun this past year.
