Dear Whatever Powers and Muses I Need to Beseech,

I would like to have Words Back, please. I reeeeeaaally need to write, and I want to. So, can I have my words back?

Thank you!

Sleep. So, I've mentioned that I'm nocturnal AND an insomniac, right? (I have vivid memories of being 4 or 5 and being wide awake into the small hours of the night, quietly playing with my toys because I couldn't fall asleep.) The Stroppy One, not pleased with this gradual slide into waking up at 11:30 or noon, has convinced me to try going to bed at 1:30-ish on most nights, and getting up around 10:30 in the morning. Okay, I can see the good points in this, especially since job-hunting probably works best during daylight. Except that I go to bed at that time, then lie awake until around 3:30, listening to the Stroppy One sleep. Let's hope the re-setting of my sleep schedule takes effect soon.

---

I left the b&w stripy fabric in the hibiscus tea bath overnight. I am going to rinse and see how it turned out very soon. If it didn't darken the fabric enough for me, my back-up plan is to run it through the washer with about a tablespoon of Rose Pink RIT. Just enough to add a faint blush to the white, not enough to make it really pink.

Okay, time to see if Words are NOT Gone. Wish me luck!

I know the nocturnal insomniac tendencies well, and have often had to do a brute sleep cycle reset for baking jobs where I have to be there at early-o'clock. Sometimes the only thing that works is to pick a new bedtime, enforce it for the first night with Benadryl, further enforce it with an evil alarm in the morning, and then stick to it like a fiend after that.

Speaking of putting words together, don't let me forget that I want to talk to you about some ideas for a little etiquette guide to go with the T party project.

The best way I've ever found to get onto an earlier bedtime schedule is to do it gradually. I figure out a more-or-less reasonable target bedtime, then the first step is to promise myself I won't start any new projects at/after that time, gradually transition down to aiming to wrap things up by that time, then to getting ready for bed, then to actually being in bed by abou that time, and eventually I can usually get used to expecting my day to be over by a set time. It's not a fast system, or always a great one, but it's the best I've come up with and actually seems to have lasting results if I can get myself to go through the whole process.

Words

If you find mine skiving with yours around some coffee shop or thrift store, would you be so kind as to send them home, please? I have a deadline approaching. >.<

From one nocturnal insomniac to another, may the appropriate powers that be and muses grace you with words.

Can't wait to hear how the fabric turned out and to see photos of the skirt!

I grew up with my mom making Hibiscus tea as a cool afternoon drink. It definitely stained many a play shirt growing up and plenty of nice shirts once we were older. I remember the stains being bright pink and then fading into a softer pink.

This is my way of asking if there's a contingency in place for in case the color is too Pink. If there is such a thing, of course.

I'll second this, with a "pretty please with icing on top!"

I haven't had the words strike in months, and it's a sad thing.

I wonder if you use essential oils at all? Lavender essential oil can help with calming and restful sleep, it's one of my favorites. Maybe you could try that? If you get a food-grade tincture you can add it to tea.
