Today has been a somewhat meh day. Nightmares last night, followed by waking up with a sinus migraine this morning. That, plus frustrating and un-fun news relating to the ongoing job hunt means I am vaguely cranky.

But! I have two cats asleep on my feet (well, I DID, but the Stroppy One came downstairs, which means Tzepesh is going to abandon me to go be with His Human), we're going to one of my favorite local places for dinner, and I've been idly window-shopping for stripy blazers. (Yes, again.)

There's this one from Ebay UK, but even my love for stripy clothing cannot blind me to the fact that it looks ... oddly constructed.

Oooh, or there's a pink and black striped (!!!) blazer from Ebay US ... except that it's a size small AND it's the wrong shade of pink. (It is. That is more fuchsia/hot pink, and my preferred shade is cupcake pink.)

And then there's this black & white striped blazer, but sadly, it's a size medium, and I'd need at least a size large from that designer.

Do I NEED a(nother) stripy blazer? Oh, probably not. But it's fun to look.

Tomorrow will be better, yes it will. But for now, idle window shopping.

Do I NEED a(nother) stripy blazer? is like asking if I need another pair of leather pants...not really but they do look good.

what *you* need is a pattern for making your *own* stripey blazers.

When I'm feeling blue or frustrated I like to window shop just because. I actually get really tired of people telling me (like at 42 I didn't know) I can't afford the stuff I'm looking at. No shit dickhead - looking is free.

Did I mention I have pms?

EXACTLY! Looking IS free, and it is pleasant distraction. And if, IF we realize that we Must Have That Thing, we will budget and save for it.

I'm sorry about the PMS. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

I'm totally with you on that. This is how I got through much of my marriage - during which I was always financially challenged. I will fold corners of beading and clothing catalogs that have things I like on them but my ratio of doing that to actually ordering things is something like 1/200 or more. I much prefer to window shop on-line and in catalogs. It's not uncommon for me to create a big list wish list or favorites list on, say, Etsy and then go back through and clear it out weeks later when everything has sold anyway...

Thanks - the pms is not horrible - I'm just a bit moody. This too shall pass. I'm starting work on my next Clockwork Gears piece (that's what I've decided to call the pieces I make out of watch parts that don't include the watch face) and getting things ready to actually post on Etsy.

Aaaawwww! Kitties on your feets! I love it when kitties decide to lump on random parts of one's body. Be it head, feet, tummy, or chest . . . they are cute and warm!

Speaking of jackets, I got my Victorian riding Jacket today, I might have to get the flared bit taken in and the arms are a bit odd fitting (then again, I have strange scrawny arms) but they do fit around the shoulders so woot! I love it! Thanks!

Tangentially related: I found this pattern (http://mylittlecitygirl.com/?p=4263) recently. Clearly there is a growing market for li'l dark ones!
