I'm in the LJ Spotlight, eeeee! This is very exciting! They very kindly linked to the Gothic Charm School website in the blurb (thank you, LJ people!); if you take a look at my profile, there is a link to the Amazon.com page for the Gothic Charm School book.
So, here, have some pictures! The first one is the Chibi!Jilli sketch I purchased at Innocente Seraphim over the weekend. I LOVE chibi-style art, and have always wanted a chibi-style cartoon of myself. The second illustration is, yes indeed, one of the Lady of the Manners from Gothic Charm School. Two completely different styles, but both showing my cartoon-like nature. (Yes, people who have known me for ages, I've just accepted that you're right, I am a cartoon. Which means I eventually get my own theme park, right?)

If any of you came from a recent stop at The Most Beautiful Things to here, please note my opinion that Jilli is a Class A arbiter of what is right and true in the world. And she has a darn fine new book called Gothic Charm School, of which you should buy about 60 copies each. Y'know, for friends and stuff.

Found your journal through the LJSpotlight feature (as I'm sure many people will). I remember finding your GCS blog many moons ago (circa 2000) as a budding goth and being relieved that there was a spooky-someone who promoted politeness. My parents were a little worried when I began donning velvet and the like at age 16 but they soon saw that I hadn't changed a bit (well, except for the black hair ;) )
Now at 25, I still hold the same values. Luckily I work in a business where it's ok to have unnatural hair colors (I'm flaming red). It's funny to me when customers are surprised that I am friendly and offer to assist them in any way I can.
So thank you for being you and encouraging the black clad to be *gasp* nice. Great job on your book and I wish you the best in the future!
